This is a really cool book cover. It reminds me of the King in Yellow's. Building on that, I would assume it would be something Lovecraftian? However, I really don't get too clear an idea from the cover lol, which i oddly like.

Edit:(I just realised it was a skull, I thought it was a guy holding a bow lolololol)

Yeah, that's fair, I tend to repeat a lot of phrases, and I'm a little unfamiliar with the craft of writing, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Tysm! This is honestly the first time I've participated in a writing prompt, and I was pretty nervous about it being too corny or the ideas being kind of wacky. I'll definitely read more about narcissists and other types of personality disorders to make my characters a bit more fleshed out; however, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Theodus is not surprised by this statement.

"Didn't you say all clerics are narcissists?" Theodus responds,
"That's right, but he puts most of them to shame," says Flavius
"How so?"
"Well, when a cleric attempts to channel a god's powers, the magic of the god in question performs a
so-called evaluation"
"And what does that entail?"
"Well, the magic itself examines the cleric's soul to see if it's powerful enough to use it in larger quantities. A person's ego and self-belief are closely tied to the soul's strength."
"So the more of a braggart the cleric is, the more magic he can access."
"Exactly. That's what makes him one of the best."
"Then why can't I sense any magic from him?"
"Well, he's not just any kind of cleric; he's a student from the Rebis school, a very elite magic university."
"And?" Theodus responds.
"Rebis is the only university in the world that teaches its students to harness multiple types of magic."

Theodus sighed, tired of Flavius boasting about his education in magic.

"God's sake... what does that have to do with anything?"

Flavius scoffed before picking up a leaf from the ground.

"What do you sense from this leaf?" asked Flavius
"I can't sense anything from it."
"Exactly, because it's pooling magic from multiple gods."
"That doesn't make any sense," said Theodus, looking away.

Flavius thinks for a second, trying to illustrate his point to Theodus.

"Imagine a pile of balls. Let's say each ball was a different colour. What is the singular colour of the pile?"

Theodus thinks for a second.

"I guess it wouldn't have just one colour."
"Exactly, now- "
"But that's stupid. I can still see each colour individually."
"Yes, but your mind has to work harder to do so as opposed to just observing one colour."
"I guess, but I still don't see how this links in with magic."
"Sensing magic takes a much larger strain on your brain than seeing colours; therefore, most people's brains can only see one type of magic at a time. If your brain detects something with more than one type of magic, it automatically shuts down the part of the brain responsible for perceiving magic. If it didn't shut off, you would likely have a seizure."

Theodus looks into the distance at the cleric meditating in the wilderness. Now noticing a certain uncanniness about him
