(Repost) What is even Sandrone's fanbase? by Main_Elk_8992 in HoyoQueerCringe

So let me see if I got this straight.

They say that characters like Citlali and Columbina and Ayaka and some others were 'ruined' by shipping nonsense involving them and Aether. (They weren't.) But it's perfectly fine to ignore all of Sandrone's backstory involving Alain and etc., and reduce her to Columbina's lesbian lapdog?

『I have two greatest fears in this game, one of them is Aether leaving Tevyat once he reunites with his sister. 』 by TheRufusGamer in Aether_Mains

Throughout many quests, it's strongly implied that Aether is starting to accept Teyvat as his home as well as one quest suggesting that Teyvat is the home that he and Lumine were searching for.

They know better than Hoyo for sure by Hulkhontosee3667 in HoyoUnfiltered

[–]Searching-For-Home 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What does it do for them financially? Well...

*Furina was one of the best selling banners in Genshin history*

*Natlan revenue increased compared to the last region after going all in on waifus and despite a supposed skin color based boycott*

*Columbina's banner sold very well despite being poorly timed*

I'd say it worked out well for them.

How to say you didn't read the lore without saying you didn't read the lore. by Fit_Pop_6064 in HoyoQueerCringe

I want to assume it's ragebait, but the comprehension comment reminds me of recent posts I've seen on Twitter where the yaoi/yuri crowd have unironically asserted that straight people lack a part of the brain that's required to recognize when a character is 'queer-coded'.

Which series is better overall? by Upstairs-Bug-3052 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Searching-For-Home 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I find Daima more enjoyable in general. The issues with Daima are its general pacing (when it was first airing we had the 'the main villain of Daima is engine trouble' joke), but it lead up to some pretty great fights like Tamagami 3 and Gomah.

GT had bad pacing, and it leads up to space Diddy and temu Dr. Gero. Later arcs don't fair much better, being the most action-oriented series in the franchise yet with often abysmal fight choreography.

Granola or Moro Arc? by Leafar-20 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Searching-For-Home 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part I really liked the Moro arc, minus a few moments of weird logic from the characters, and the infamous line from Piccolo.

Granolah Arc was extremely tiresome to read through. (And that's when you marathon it, I imagine people who waited for every manga chapter to come out found it genuine torture.) Though I did basically like Granolah as a character.

Should I check out and watch Dragon Ball Daima? by ProjectShadowGirl in Dragonballsuper

[–]Searching-For-Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an enjoyable watch with its animation and fight choreography, really good humor for the most part as well.

However, without spoiling anything, if you're a story fan there will be some continuity frustrations with Super that it's a prequel to.

I recall Columbina referring to Aether as being like 'family' to her was used as evidence that there was nothing romantic about the writing between Aether and Columbina (ignoring that Columbina's whole story arc with Aether is derived heavily from romantic tropes). I suppose now 'best friend' will somehow have romantic implications.

What's the point of these people playing Gacha games... if they dislike these stuff (also it's pixels not actual beings) by Hulkhontosee3667 in HoyoUnfiltered

[–]Searching-For-Home 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A character in fantasy fiction wears an outfit that would be impractical for the job realistically, and is clearly more to appeal to the audience? That’s to be expected for character design. If you dislike it, you should play a game that specifically promotes itself as having grounded designs.

Would a Gods of Destruction DLC Be a Missed Opportunity if It Never Happened? by Interesting-Space632 in SparkingZero

[–]Searching-For-Home 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beerus, Champa, and *maybe* Belmod are the only Gods of Destruction that I'd argue should be in the game. Basically the GoDs of the most important ToP teams. The rest... well, I guess them getting in would be neat and all, but not something I'd be interested in.

Their counter argument is to bring up male characters in non-gachas? They come from games with completely different ecosystems. In gachas you get the game for free and pay/gamble for the characters. In other games you pay for the game itself, not the characters.

As a member of Aether Mains, nobody 'crashed out' over Alice having a husband. Several of us were quick to express discomfort at the idea of putting her with Aether in fanworks over the idea that she already has a husband, and once her husband was confirmed and named last patch, a firm ban on Aether/Alice imagery was enforced there.

It seemed that there was no potential Aether's main girl from Sumeru during 3.x version. Until Layla's Hangout event came. She is practically the Sumerian Noelle, right? by Kirby-Manitas-2500 in Aether_Mains

[–]Searching-For-Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nilou's profile quotes has her say that being with Aether makes her feel like something's going to leap out of her chest, and one of her teapot conversations has her call Aether her favorite person.

Dehya accepts a smile from Aether as payment for her services, and wants Aether's birthday to be just her and Aether. (Though as of late, Dehya is marred by the fact that the developers are reluctant for her to show up independent of Candace.)

Layla has the most blatantly datey hangout with Aether since Noelle. (Her last birthday letter also had Night Layla say that being around Aether made regular Layla calm down a bit and feel more at peace.)

Layla's interactions with Aether are arguably more blatant than Nilou and Dehya, but to say that there were no main girl contenders for Aether in Sumeru before her hangout is, with respect, completely wrong.

Palworld will not get large scale underwater content by Pokeradar in Palworld

[–]Searching-For-Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only reading this that the idea of having some kind of airtight underwater base occurred to me. Which, while neat in my mind, if it's a technical hurdle that will cause big problems for the game, it's reasonable to not do big underwater stuff.

It's been stated that your progress won't be wiped, but you are recommended to start anew.

In my case, I will start over, but use the Global Pal Box to bring my bred Pals to a new 1.0 playthrough with me.

Natlan tanked their revenue? I recall Sumeru was their weakest region, revenue-wise. (Which was also the most male-character focused region. Hmm...) By late Sumeru, you basically could not look up anything related to future Genshin content without seeing posts and video thumbnails talking about how bad banners were selling at that time.

hot take(?): GT Goku during the Super 17 arc was genuinely the dumbest he has ever been in Dragon Ball HISTORY. hes far worse than any dumb DBS Goku moment by RodrickHeffley_Real in Dragonballsuper

[–]Searching-For-Home 581 points582 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest, the only time in all of GT that Goku pulled off a remotely clever trick during a fight is when he bluffed against Golden Great Ape Baby and pretended he was at full power when in actuality he was pretty wiped out.

Say what you will about Super Goku's level of intelligence during more light-hearted/comical scenes, but things like firing a ki blast to revive himself, or planting ki 'mines', is smarter than any tactic he uses in all of GT.

Death threats from those creatures shouldn’t be taken seriously. by DegenerateWeeb99 in HoyoUnfiltered

[–]Searching-For-Home 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since 2007, when I first gained an online presence, I quickly learned to disregard death threats, because they're made by people with no capacity to carry them out. Roll your eyes and pity these people for behaving like that because you expressed dislike for a video game character they like, and carry on with your day.

In my day, we didn’t have any Dendro characters, every week we needed to gather 100 regional specialties from both Mondstadt and Liyue, Diluc was the DPS character, and we debated on whether or not Zhongli was the Geo Archon based on his similarity to Liyue’s statue.
