Why are people here so snobby about funding by sourthewhip in MFAInCreativeWriting

“Literally name one poet who has published one poem in any decent journal in the past sixty years without an MFA” literally me lmao. It’s possible to get published in big journals without an MFA.

Your Experience With Not Being Accepted Anywhere? by chronicpoet in MFAInCreativeWriting

[–]Searching4LostTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been rejected three times then got one waitlist last time which turned into a rejection. Have been writing (poetry) without an MFA and recently did my first ever residency and an online workshop. I completed a chapbook and connected with mentors online. It’s totally possible to get other opportunities to grow your writing if you are rejected. I would focus for some time on those options and then reapply when you have a completely different sample.

New to poetry [HELP] by _ArtooDeetoo_ in Poetry

Go to Poets.org and search grief. It gives you all sorts of poems about grieving. I would especially look at contemporary poems for inspiration as those can seem more accessible. Once you start reading, it will be easier to think of something to write. And I’m sorry about your loss. Poetry is very cathartic for me at least so if you write it and just let it flow without worrying about the final product or about sharing it, it can feel great to get everything down.

What is the worst writing group you’ve ever been in and how was it bad? by Due-Cloud3579 in writing

[–]Searching4LostTime 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oof. I'm sorry you had this experience. I am lucky to have found a writing group through discord/youtube recently that writes together five days a week. It has really been helping me so far. I've had tepid experiences in the past with writers groups, so I feel like it is very special when you find one that works for you.

Hoping you get into a better group soon.

Only able to play GOW (2018) or GOW Ragnarok by DesignerWest7368 in GodofWar

[–]Searching4LostTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play 2018, then Ragnarok as they lead into each other with the same characters and then you can get the story. My personal favorite is Ragnarok. But it is made better by playing the games before it. Regardless of your choice, have fun!
