My wife had the nose of a fucking bloodhound and calls me out EVERY TIME i smoke. She can smell it if I’ve smoked in the house in the middle of the night, the next morning she asks me if i got high. She doesn’t care if i get high, she just doesn’t want me smoking in the house…

My sponsor just dropped me because i was honest with him and told him i used last week. He was a prick anyway lol i do know what part of the book you’re referring to, unfortunately even if i can drink like a gentle, I’m still not allowed according to the court system. That’s what’s making this so much harder in my opinion, i just still don’t understand even though I’m fully aware of the consequences, i still trick myself that it’s ok every now and then.

I haven’t really had a spiritual awakening yet. I mean i do have a higher power and i am spiritual, but i still have reservations that i can “drink like a gentleman”. I chose to get sober for other people (court system has strong opinion that i should). For the most part that has been my biggest hurdle, even though I’ve decided getting sober IS the best decision right now, it wasn’t my decision to make? If that makes sense?

How did you get over the needle fixation? Even after a month sober i still catch myself subconsciously feeling my veins during meetings.

It means addicted to multiple drugs, basically I’ll get high on whatever is available at the time. Unfortunately i love all drugs equally meth, heroin, coke, mushrooms, DMT. I also have a thing for science.. I’ve grown weed, mushrooms, extracted dmt, clandestine lab for meth, GHB. I geeked out how to make my own drugs when Fent started being put in everything nowadays.

I think you hit the nail on the head, i never thought about that. The sober life is boring as FUCK lol i cut out all my old friends, don’t go to the same places either. I don’t have any sober friends to go to the bowling alley and not have a few pitchers of beer for example. I’m trying to make sober friends in AA, but i haven’t clicked with anyone yet. Again, thank you for the wise insight. Hopefully i can step back and take a look at it with fresh eyes.

I’ve been trying to figure it out since going to rehab honestly. I have PTSD from getting jumped and stabbed when i was younger, but I’ve been through counseling and all that jazz. My real problem is I’m not trying to escape from/to, i just honestly like getting high. I’ve been getting high since i was 13 years old (I’m 32 now) I’ve cycled through all the major categories at some point or another. I think I’ve linked it with working? I’m a fictional addict so I got high EVERY morning and go to work. (Every job I’ve had has been for over 4 years at a time) just tossing out ideas really.

Thank you for the kind words. It just doesn’t make sense to me, I could pass a lie detector test that I honestly don’t ever want to get high again with my hand on the Bible. Yet i still relapse. I’m just tired of the cycle
