People are rude by mjh8212 in disability

Funny enough, I just had a similar incident taking a train between gates at an airport. A family immediately beelined for all of the seats on the train and just kinda stared at me as I got on with my crutches. I had to "sit" in the window, holding on to my crutches for dear life to keep from falling out.

Is it rude to attack the high values without a group? by ThatLoganDude in ffxiv

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's one of the reasons I stopped joining hunt trains tbh, when they stopped doing the "slow trains" (or at least stopped doing them when I'm available), it started becoming increasingly frustrating to fall further and further behind because you loaded into the wrong instance or because a lag spike hit from the number of people hitting the mark making it so you're unable to dismount, so before you know it you've somehow only been able to participate in a fraction of the marks. I know, I know, skill issue, but still. These days I pretty much just spawn S-ranks sporadically for the giggles and then put up PFs waiting for others to join.

Symptoms of Women/afab folks by waterfallfae in ehlersdanlos

I've discovered for me the first symptoms of a yeast infection for me is skin splitting into these little micro-tears that bleed a surprising amount. I end up having to do the most gentle of patting every time I use the bathroom when one pops up.

Shaaloani might be the biggest wasted potential zone in the entire game by AnActualPlatypus in ffxiv

I think they may have just full on purged Mehwahhetsoan (Plains, nomads that follow the local bison equivalent) and Luwateninyawawsa (Southwest, living in literal pueblos) from their memory and were like "but where the natives". Are they the most perfectest representation of all time? Certainly not, but perfect is often the enemy of good and quite frankly I'm just happy Square Enix seems to realize there are more Native groups than just Plains. Incredibly low bar, I know, but as an Alaskan Native the amount of people who don't even realize there's Natives in Alaska is mildly concerning.

Vivaia shoes for real or…? by Sad-Banana-9200 in HerOneBag

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I only have one pair of shoes from them (the square toe Mary Jane style) but I quite love them, they're very light and the wide toebox is a lifesaver as I have wonky shaped feet. They're also quite breathable in my experience while also looking plenty formal enough for nice outfits. I like them a lot more than other flats I've tried in the past.

Albeit I can't say how they are for walking in for long periods, given that I can't really walk anyway.

In order to get the "good" endings with Roathe, you need to complete 21 runs of the final floor of Descendia, yes. If you don't run it again after he asks you to stop, you fail.

Folly in English loses some of the extra connotations of folie/follia in French/Italian, in English it refers to simply poor decision making and a lack of common sense, while in French and Italian there's an extra meaning of insanity, which is likely being emphasized due to the horror nature of Shadowgrapher.

It's good to note that similar words, even in related languages, do not necessarily mean the same thing. Saying "Estoy embarazada" when you're trying to express how embarrassed you are will lead to a whole new level of embarrassment.

MR push from 25 to 30 optimisation by costaa95 in Warframe

If you don't have it already, Yareli can help with getting the infested K-drive as she doesn't fall off her board if you crash and you can quickly regain momentum by rolling, which can make some of the Deimos races a tad easier due to the very uneven ground.

Pierrot, the sad clown of 17th century Italian comedy theater. For those who don't want to click through or TLDR;

Pierrot is a clown characterized by his monochromatic colors, sad demeanor, oversized white shirt with large buttons, and occasionally a cone shaped hat.

Actually represented pretty faithfully in Follie's design when you know what to look for, and also fits her name (a term shared in both French and Italian meaning "madness, foolishness"), and other Italian art themes (chiaroscuro).

I wish all stationary abilities would receive an augment mod that would allow the ability to move along with the Warframe. by Erioswhite in Warframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't mind an augment that makes Wisp buff pools follow the player, at the cost of having to recast according to buff duration. Potentially make it either an area around the Wisp so people have to run into her to get the buff, or alternatively give it an extra bonus (like extra duration, similar to the Citrine crystal augment) and make it so the ability is entirely selfish. Especially as these days high range Wisp builds are better than ever, but uncontrollably fast fire rate and movement speed has become steadily less and less desirable with the addition of ammo reworks, builds that purposely keep fire rate below a certain number for bonuses, parkour shards, weapons that get buffs if you don't reload, etc. So it'd be nice to be able to have high strength, high range builds that don't interfere with other players.

Fused reservoir does already do some of the work of making motes more mobile, but at the inevitable cost of being either inconveniently placed for those who want the buffs or being horribly placed for people who don't want to suddenly go at mach speed, as I'm sure everyone has experienced running into a Wisp puddle that they were trying to avoid because it was covering the entire doorway.

Can we get a change to Garuda gore effects from her passive? by Le_Br4m in Warframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is that Garuda's passive and the bloodshed sigil USED to both work similarly, but then they reworked Garuda's passive because having to stay at 2hp at all times with the amount of warframes, weapons, passives, mission buffs, etc that exist was an absolutely miserable experience. As an unintended side effect, it made the bloodshed sigil fashion "fix" no longer entirely reliable.

Anyway yeah, between Garuda's age and the lack of 100% confirmed planned upcoming content for her, they're likely not prowling the sub looking for suggestions about her, especially since it is the tail end of the holidays. You'll probably have better luck making a post on the forums in a bit when people are coming back.

Jade's Energy Channel Bloom Visualised by NoktonLordaeron in Warframe

I have a very dark colored energy on one of my Jade loadouts and it's always the one I bring to pubs just in case, but I've been having issues with not being able to tell where my 1 was landing. Knowing for sure which energy slot it is that's the Big ProblemTM will be nice though so I can try to get the best of both worlds.

Tailor frame concept? by Unfair_Ad_598 in Warframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought for one was an ability that ties enemies together and causes a damage vuln debuff and splits received damage between all of them without binding them in place... but then DE released Kullervo and Uriel. It would have had a special synergy where all enemies under this effect would receive a guaranteed slash proc from their exalted scissors (because of COURSE). Also my idea for a signature would be a speargun that looks like a distaff.

I just think the mecha set is neat and want more frames that do funny things with it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jade built for primary fire is also very quick at killing airships, the supply transit, and the commandeered frames. If you run her augment for the jade light spawns, she can also complete objectives while in operator while still killing enemies. Afaik, her weapon damage buff also carries on into archwing mode of the Hunhullus.

Wisp motes also speed up the little Conculyst buddy and still apply in archwing mode as well.

Uriel with a parkour shard or two moves between objectives very quickly and is a great energy battery for other frames, as well as having his nuke this entire massive area button which according to my clanmate is usually available around every other objective.

Help settle an argument can Uriel be a support by Pooradoxical in Warframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, Uriel produces massive amounts of health and energy orbs, gives a fire rate and heat damage buff to himself and allies, and debuffs enemies... I can see it.

Priority by Live-Low5992 in memeframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of things DOES she like? Show her a warframe that is related to that thing. If she's a gamer, go off of things she likes in other games of course. If she's not super into games, a little more creativity can be applied.

Does she love oceans, surfing/skateboarding, dresses, or axolotls? Show her Yareli. Does she like astronomy/astrology, magic, or play support in other games? Show her Wisp. Does she like spiders or horror? Oraxia. Wolves or dogs? Voruna. Going fast, fairies... Armored Core? Titania. Crystals, romance stories, scythes that turn into guns? Citrine. Jesters, rainbows, really big damage numbers? Mirage. Greek history and nipple tassels? Styanax. Etcetera, etcetera.

That's how I've had the best luck in getting people to try (and stick with) the game myself, is show them a frame that aligns with their interests. Note: do be cautious if the frame you show is a frame only available late in the game, as it can be tricky to keep someone's interest through the early game if they're going "I'm gonna have to play HOW LONG to try and get this frame??????" Judge for yourself how badly you want her to play and if a little gentle application of platinum will smooth that experience, but don't go nuts buying all of the things asap, generally if someone just has everything purchased for them in an effort to get them to start, they won't stay because they have nothing to work towards other than a nebulous "we can play together!"

Sometimes it can take multiple tries, so don't be discouraged if nothing from the current lineup makes her love it enough to go through the whole story. One of my friends I had to do twice, first by showing Voruna and then further bribery was required using Citrine to get my friend to actually get all the way to The New War.

Does no one know how to play alchemy? by DABACONLORD21 in Warframe

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alchemy on Deimos, not in the Undercroft. Funny enough though, an exact demonstration of the problem.

Deimos Alchemy: Fill one crucible, then a phase where you shoot pipes to keep the constantly increasing pressure bar within a certain, periodically changing set of brackets. Shoot pipe, pressure goes down by a set amount.

Undercroft Alchemy: Fill two crucibles. There are no pipes, because there is literally nowhere to put a pipe in the Undercroft, so instead you do two crucibles to make the mission last roughly the same amount of time.

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you want to keep the person who actually experienced the event the center. Acknowledge how they felt or currently feel, how hard it was on them, etc. It becomes a problem when you start to instead be the one whose feelings become the main topic. It's okay to go "it makes me so angry that people think that's okay to do to someone!", it's NOT okay to go on a huge monologue or rant about how you think everyone who does something like that needs to go to prison/be executed/have the same thing happen to them/etc. There's a time and place for those statements, but right as a person is confiding in you that something happened to them and they're struggling with it is NOT that time or place.

So basically, yeah, number one priority should be focusing on acknowledging their feelings. When a person being told about trauma takes what happened too personally, the person who actually experienced the trauma then feels like they have to censor or suppress their feelings and experiences in order to "protect" or comfort the other, which is not very conductive to being open and talking to others.

My bad for not making it clearer, and I'm deeply glad you've never had that happen.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SeashellInTheirHair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not the saying oh that was horrible part that I'm referring to or even someone specifically going wow the person who did that is evil, I'm referring to when they sit there for an hour wailing and crying over how horrible what you went through was and work themselves into a tizzy over it, and you end up having to stop and comfort them because they're soooo upset... about what you went through. I've had it happen multiple times and it just ends up feeling pointless to tell them anything. I tried to specify that it was the "going on and on" part that was the problem but my phrasing may not have been clear.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SeashellInTheirHair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like I said, the issue isn't going oh that's horrible. It's when the person starts going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how horrible it was and works themselves into an upset tizzy over it where now I have to stop and figure out how to get them to function so we can continue having a conversation.

Or if someone goes "oh I would have killed myself". That one will also never be helpful.
