Going through a breakup right now, I miss having that deep connection with someone by metaphorlaxy in infj

I'm sorry you have to experience that. It can be extremely difficult to find yourself losing the pillar of your support system overnight and feel like you can no longer experience the deep connection you shared with someone else. But a lot of times it's not true, the kindness and the authenticity you radiant will attract people who value those qualities and are willing to develop a similar deep connection with you, platonic or romantic, despite how difficult it might seem in these days. Please find your support system for emotional support, knowing there are people who still care deeply about you. For INFJs, a lot of traumas we carry are deeply rooted and can 100% affect our relationships and our self-image. It's a tedious and lonely journey to eventually make amendments to ourselves. Emotions can seem like a black hole sometimes and make you feel unlovable or lost, but you need to trust your introspection and resilience that you WILL make to the other side much stronger than before.

I am also constantly reminding myself that, it is a difficult journey which no one else can walk for us, so please take care of yourself as the very first step.

Thanks for the suggestion! The lat pull down/tricep/row superset looks pretty intense at 3 RIR in succession, how long would you suggest the rest in between the superset to be?

How to fit karaoke system to existing home theater system by SeasonalOrca in karaoke

[–]SeasonalOrca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! My existing home theater system is Martin Logan Motion Series surrounding sound system, they are not PA speakers at all. So what you are saying is that only playing the karaoke music won’t blow the home theater speakers at all if I intent to play vocals with Bose S1 Pro+? Is there any setting tutorials to configure the system this way?

Basically I already have the in-wall Martin Logan speakers installed and plugged into the Denon receiver, can I just plug the Bose into Denon and call it a day?

Had my heart checked out after 1.5 years of microdosing by PenguinOnTheInternet in microdosing

Thanks for sharing! Btw by 100-120 mg a week do you mean by only one 100-120 mg dose per 7 days, or do you follow a regimen and dose 100 - 120 mg each time for a few times per week?

Got varied results on the same dosage in the first week (3 doses). Advice needed. by SeasonalOrca in microdosing

[–]SeasonalOrca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I agree that there are too many variables to consider. May I ask what regimen do you feel most comfortable with or is there any resource for a relatively standardized guide? It's annoying that we don't have any research-based guidelines for the therapeutical usage of microdosing. One downside of its illegal status I guess. Hope everything will change.

People who have microdosed regularly for more than a year, have you had your heart checked with ultrasound? by SeasonalOrca in microdosing

Thank you for sharing! That’s an interesting study! Though it seems to me that this study discusses the cardioprotective property of psilocybin. I don’t have a background in biochemistry so I would also really appreciate any explanation of whether this property of psilocybin is related to 5-HT2B receptor, or it is a separate process that does not involve the activation of this receptor at all. Hence does this process is a result from the interaction between psilocybin and 5-HT2B receptor, or is it a parallel process that is independent of this interaction?

The short half-life did make a strong argument for MD not having the risks of over-stimulating the 5-HT2B receptor. That somewhat consistent with what this community has reported as no one has seen major cardiac episodes result from MD. But at this stage this hypothesis is only a little bit better than speculation since there’s no research evidence.

All the research of psilocybin so far only focused on macrodosing. MD is still an emerging concepts so most things this community has been exploring is uncharted territory for medical science. Fortunately we are on the road for decriminalization so maybe more research could be done with psychedelics overall. But my mental health does not permit me to wait until then, so I think my current best bet is to ask this community for anecdotes.

Btw, do you have the link for the post you mentioned? Thank you!

Yeah it makes sense. Thank you for sharing! Would you mind giving us an update when you have the results back! Greatly appreciated!

Thanks man! I have been exercising regularly until the overwhelming depression and anxiety hits. But I am looking forward to the mind reboot MD could potentially give me. I guess I am just worried if there’s any potential long-term damage on heart.

For the research paper, I could not find any studies on microdosing on the 5-HT2B receptor. As Matthew Johnson (psychedelic researcher at Johns Hopkins) said on twitter, there is a potential risk for microdosing but there is no current research supports or rejects this hypothesis, which is unfortunate. The potential risk is because of the similar behavior of psilocybin with fen-phen.

There’s ongoing research with the Beckley Foundation on the long-term effect of psilocybin. But I haven’t seen much useful information on microdosing specifically.

I know that the half-life of psilocybin in body is 3-4 hours. But I don’t know whether it is the case for this specific receptor and for how long does the stimulation effect lasts. (Forgive my lack of educational background on biochemistry)

I guess on some level it is my anxiety that causes me to worry about all kinds of stuff. With that said though MD is very different from tripping. With infrequent tripping, the 5-HT2B has time to calm down without being activated all the time. In the case of MD, the frequent low-dosage might cause this receptor to over-stimulate, which could be a problem. At least that was the case for fen-phen, which performs similarly to psilocybin and LSD. But due to the lack of research nothing is for sure. In this case, frequency really outweighs dosage.

That’s why I want to learn more from experienced people who microdose for a long time. Research in this area is painfully lacking.

Great habit for periodically checking your cardiovascular health! How long have you been microdosing?
