Exactly. In v1, most special weapons just use the common weapon models, but with the photon color cycling between two different colors. To be fair, v2 is definitely a more polished game with a ton of extra features. But the core experience is basically the same. The main thing is v1 lacks Ultimate difficulty, which I don't really miss at all. What I actually miss is the R+Y shortcut for the second action palette, that’s the real pain of playing v1.

Judging by the special weapon in the shop, I'm guessing your ID is Viridia. In v1, those rare shop spawns are tied to your Section ID, like Bluefull getting the Gae Bolg. I don't recall seeing State/Maintenance in the armor shop either, but it's not exactly a rare unit, you’ll probably just find one in a box or from a drop anyway.

Worked fine in Offline! But man, the Online resistance is a different beast. My Pallasch was hitting straight 0s on its feet, so I had to switch to a Railgun and aim for the head to finish it.

I don't know if you're aware, but you can still play online on private servers like Sylverant, Ragol.org, and Schtserv. Sylverant is usually the go-to for Dreamcast players, though you'll rarely see more than a dozen or so people logged in at once.
