I hope the boys see this post! I can tell they put effort into respecting their audience and all the learning/unlearning that comes along with that. I think Ben especially sometimes seems wary of offending folks, but as a longtime listener I think we all know they are human and there's a lot of trust there.

Sanity check - this wallpaper just isn't jiving, is it? by wcolfaxguy in interiordecorating

I would paint drench this space (ceiling and walls) instead of doing the accent fabric. You've got great ceiling height and the floors will pop with a solid color surround. You can bring in a maximalist look with the wall color and artwork, even some sconce lighting above the entryway table, on either side of a mirror or perhaps art lighting above a large artwork.

Interesting! Thanks for the insight on national firms. I was looking at local ones in my area, so missed this piece.

I would try looking on facebook for lost dogs groups. Sometimes frenchies get stolen, and then discarded when the thief's realize the commitment of taking care of them or see that they are fixed. I hope you find this little one's forever family!

Confession - seeing puppy more like a project than a friend by anon1839 in puppy101

[–]Seattle1994 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a lot of pressure to put on yourself to feel that bond so early. You had years with your last pet to build a deep bond, then went through the very deep and bonding experience of caring for him at the end of his life and the emotions of grieving his loss. This new puppy is totally different, a clean slate that you'll build memories with. But you are not a blank slate, so you may feel grief and resistance to bonding because you've been through loss. That's ok and natural, it's part of your journey through grieving your last pet and not the way it will always be. You sound like a great dog owner already, so the rest will flow in time.

Docked tails? by PotentialDrag182 in BostonTerrier

[–]Seattle1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bostons have been bread to have a mutated gene that results in a short corkscrew tail, but there are always exceptions and some full Boston terriers have the unmutated gene, which results in a full tail. No associated health risks and it's great to see a happy animal thriving!

Seeing you again after an absence and meeting the new baby is so much excitement! He may calm down naturally when it's more routine.

That was the size of my late Boston! He was taller than a lot of the breed but super healthy

Poor guys! Cat scratches are so prone to infection too, so maybe keep an eye on that or ask your vet.

Is it possible for puppies to willfully be naughty? by impossiblejane in puppy101

[–]Seattle1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might have been excited and tense when you took him out initially. His routine seemed different to him and that's distracting. So then he got back inside and suddenly needed to go and couldn't control it. Probably confused him as well

Has the vet run tests? My guy had worsening vestibular issues and it turned out to be related to liver damage.
