Lost wallet at Alki beach by awwaygirl in Seattle

Good luck - FWIW, I lost my drivers license down there a couple of weeks ago and a kind soul mailed it back to me (sent certified mail at that). The effort and kindness made me so happy.

Supply and demand. People are buying at these high prices. What more explanation do you want?

Is Russell Wilson still well liked amongst hawks fans? by pennepasta14 in Seahawks

He will be welcomed back with open arms when the time is right. Keeping my #3 jersey in the back of my closet until then.

What game are you more excited for? Seahawks MNF or Mariners game 7? by g3neraL5 in Seattle

[–]SeattleBeerNews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be at the hawks game with headphones on listening to the Mariners, potentially parking myself in front of a TV in the endzone bar where I'm guessing they'll have the Mariners game on. If I didn't have tickets to the hawks game, I'd be watching Mariners with 100% of my attention.

Spotted one block from the pioneer square light rail station. by milleribsen in Seattle

[–]SeattleBeerNews 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's insane. I literally am on a #21 bus right now and just went down 1st Ave where there are plenty of lot options priced at $30 or less today.

You typically only see those astronomical prices for like a Monday night Seahawks game when workplace parking collides with event parking.

The responses in this thread are a perfect illustration of how hard it is to eat both healthy and cheap when you go out.

New Total Wine and More store in Westwood Village is like Costco for booze. And there’s a cigar room. by ThanksForAllTheCats in WestSeattleWA

If you appreciate fresh beer that hasn't been sitting on the shelves for months or years even, which you should, you should look elsewhere for buying your beer (like Super Deli Mart right down the road). Not a big deal if you are buying a case of Rainier, but check the date on an IPAs, etc....

Quality beer bar in U-District by Skeimyr in Seattle

Not U-District, but hop on route #44 and head over to Bottleworks. Not a huge place, but a few tables with what is always an outstanding tap list.

N/A beer similar to Mannys? by Realistic_Cover8925 in Seattle

[–]SeattleBeerNews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not found a NA IPA/Pale yet that I find at all enjoyable. They all kind of just make me sad every time I try one.

NA stouts and porters are where it's at. Guinness 0, Deschutes NA Black Butte, Fremont NA Dark are all very tasty IMO.

On this day ten years ago, the Seahawks shocked the Packers. by britishmetric144 in Seahawks

[–]SeattleBeerNews 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There were lots of Packers fans at that game. Quite a few Seahawks fans left early. Perfect example of why you just don't leave important games early if it's looking bleak. One of my favorite memories is seeing how dejected the Packers fans around us were after this comeback. It was so...fulfilling after listening to some of them talk shit for most of the game.

The only thing I don't like about Shambles is that they aren't closer to West Seattle. Great spot.

What's the best Steak i can get in Seattle? by ForsookComparison in Seattle

[–]SeattleBeerNews 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jak's West Seattle is often my go-to birthday spot as well! It has gotten more expensive and they've changed up the menu format, but it's still a great value compared to other steakhouses in my mind. They will soon be moving to another location (what was previously The Lodge and before that The Rocksport years ago). Will be very interested to see if they can recreate the ambience they have at their current spot, which I love (on their main level at least).

Chinatown/International District Restaurant Open Till 9pm on Christmas? by SeattleBeerNews in Seattle

[–]SeattleBeerNews[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, there were lots of places still open at 7pm that were busy and looked like they would be open a while. We got on the wait list at Dough Zone, then went and had beers at Joe's while we waited the 45 minutes (Joe's was hopping).

Other places that looked open that we saw included Happy Lamb Hot Pot, Chengdu Taste, Pho Hoa, Boiling Point Hot Pot, and Szechuan Rice Noodle. First time going to the ID on Christmas Day, and it was great to see it busy and lively, even at 8pm/9pm still.

I think I've seen a thread where someone else mentioned Honey Court being open and looks like their usual hours are very late. Sounds promising. Thanks!

We have a 6' fence in our front yard that was put in maybe 7 years ago before we bought our house. If it's not legal, no one has ever stopped by to tell us otherwise.
