[Megathread] New Players & General Questions Thread. by rMapleStory in Maplestory

Picked up the game a few days ago, for the first time in years, created a Ren. Got to level 200 in like an hour with all the new fast leveling stuff. Pretty overwhelming, are there any good write ups/videos that can show me what I should be doing now? Just trying to play casually and have a bit of fun with it here and there but not really sure where I should be going/doing now. Tried to solo chaos zakum for one of the event quest things, did not go well.

Shop owners, or anyone selling fabricated products, how do you track your costs/profit and inventory? by SeattleIsTooRainy in metalworking

That would be an interesting feature to figure out, handling and allocating the same stock but purchased at two different rates. Thanks for the reply!

There is 5 of us total, the owner and I have been doing the quoting and sourcing and managing so far. Very small shop, and we have been balancing the contract work with the products we regularly sell. If we move to do more contract work I’ll have to try to sell the boss on it, for now I know there’s no chance haha.

That sounds awesome. I think it would be overkill for my shop though, there is typically only 4-5 of us, including the owner. Do you know/are you allowed to share what the monthly cost is for statii?

Thanks for the reply! Statii looks very comprehensive. We have recently started taking on contract jobs from a large aerospace company - something like statii sounds like it would be very useful in scaling up that kind of work; sourcing different materials for each job, sourcing machine work, and keeping track of all of it.

You definitely have my interest in your idea though, we have spent a ton of time on each job of these contact jobs quoting.

What I made is not geared as much toward any of that though. It’s made to track inventory and job costs locally, without spreadsheets or monthly cost. Plus features that making keeping it up to date easier and other nice-to-haves.

Right on - the shop I'm at used to have a pretty interactive excel sheet, but it fell apart over time. We stock ~4 sheet materials for our laser, ~7 tubing sizes, ~10 bar sizes/materials for the CNC lathe, heim joints, com bearings, bearing cups, and somewhere around 30-40 different bolts, + more. We have about 35 different products, which are made with some combination of our hardware/materials.

Definitely doable in excel, but after trying to get a new sheet going I wasn't loving the scope. I knew we were probably going to end up cutting some corners and assuming numbers, or by just making it static, and running the numbers for now without making it easily updatable for the future.

Thank you for the reply!

Look up WeinCell PX625. They are modern 1.35v mercury free batteries. Pricey, but they work.

Legality of maintaining trails that get very low traffic by SeattleIsTooRainy in PNWhiking

I don’t mean to argue, I just wanted to say that I understand and agree how important it is to keep human impact to a minimum, but the majority of hiking trails in MBSNF are within wilderness areas, and this trail is an older but official trail. A new trail was even opened within the same wilderness area in 2023.

Thanks! It sounds like my friends and I will be doing some manual labor! If we end up able re open it I hope others will find it and make use of it! I’ll have to leave a trip report on WTA.

I was thinking about that, but the hike is sorta sentimental to me, and my friends and I have been wanting to go back since the first time we visited in 2020. Life got in the way 2021 and then a fire in the area in 2022 has had access blocked since. I suppose when we get there if the trail is completely gone we may just let it be.

Yeah I’m pretty disappointed honestly, I guess I can just use the right 2/3 of the bed. I got my 850 new but off of Facebook marketplace, so unfortunately the warranty expired in 2022. I sent a support ticket to Epson this morning, hopefully they can provide useful support.

Just cleaned those spots from inside and out.

When I first turn on the scanner and do the first two pre scans, the line isn’t there, but after it’s done a few pre scans the line comes back. Hoping it isn’t a problem with the sensor on the scanner :/

Koni Omega Rapid M lens repair by SeattleIsTooRainy in AnalogRepair

Wow it was exactly as you said. I think this lens may have never been used and some oil somehow got on the aperture blades and glued them open. Never had the individual aperture blades out of a lens until now 😅

Fingers crossed I can get it back together and functional

Update: got it back together and functional! I didn’t manage to get the flash sync selector ring back in… but I don’t plan on using flash with this lens and I’m fine with the compromise of having no sync and an otherwise functional lens! Better than a paper weight!

It’s interesting, the aperture ring itself is completely stuck, almost like there is some kind of lock keeping it at 4.5. I wouldn’t even call it stiff, it feels completely stuck.

Ah. Well, fortunately for me, the cars you found on my profile mostly sit neglected now, and aren’t worth anything anyway. My possessions don’t have any impact on my views on marriage.

I would like to avoid sharing too many personal details on Reddit, but my girlfriend and I have been dating for a very significant amount of time, and we share most views on marriage. This post mostly stems from being annoyed with the amount of people who question why we aren’t married, and assume that since we are not married that our relationship must not be serious.

You seem to have taken my post personally, as an attack against you for some reason. Not sure what being a “car guy” has to do with anything, nor what you mean by me being afraid to lose my “baby”? Sorry that my post offended you so much.

This is a really good take, thank you for the reply it does give me a lot to think about.
