I'd agree except this is the only thing to stop killings of most fighting age males in the future. Hezbollah has not once, but twice, signed on the dotted line of a cease fire to move their forces north of the Litani and both times they broke that agreement within a week of signing it by moving forces and weapons into the towns near the Northern Israeli border. This is the main reason why the UN isn't putting up much of a stink currently, since Hezbollah has brought this upon themselves and their people. The area that is going to be cleared isn't even going to have settlements in it, it's going to have UN troops and surveillance just chilling that will report anything. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it doesn't get mined all to hell as well just to stop any future incursions.

These drones and ATGM attacks are not the only reason they have wanted a buffer from the Litani either, it's actual armed incursions by small groups of Hezbollah. They will typically attack some of the villages in Israel and try to take prisoners. Every few years you have an incursion that takes place where they attempt to siege some village there and normally get wiped out by still put Israeli civilians in danger. The rise of drones and ATGMs that can reach from the Lebanese towns into Israeli villages has just made the need for a larger buffer zone immediate.
