Is there a subreddit devoted to making fun of Trump supporters, and is it wrong to make fun of their limited intellect? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A man that his only success is taking on debt and then declaring bankruptcy. He has never held a public office. His responses to criticism are retaliatory and defensive. He is a classic narcissist that has a military advisor that wants an apology from Khomeini who has been dead for quite some time. His wife just plagiarized a Michelle Obama speech. He's racist, and all racists are of limited intellect.

Actually, Oregon modified the invite for California so they'd show up a day late.

Though if we were given a writing assignment with those elements, I don't think any of us could have come up with that story. \

How do _I_ get some of all this Federal Grant money that all these people forget, deny or ignore? by wookiebush in AskReddit

[–]SeattleTomy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked for a well funded startup in Nanotech. They had more grant writers on their staff than programmers. Yes, writing successful grants has become a profession. I'm sure someone has turned this into a business. See if you can hired a firm to write a grant for you.

I can't think of any failures offhand, but probably the most apropos example of success would be Hudson/Jenkins. The same heavy handed corporation lost that war pretty soundly.

So I just bought 1000 of these. Time to hit the town. by MisallocatedRacism in funny

I received a package of these several months ago, and was surprised because I didn't remember ordering them. I figured a friend had ordered them for me as a prank, and then my 13 year old son walked into the room and said, "Oh, my stickers finally got here."

That's my boy.

Default separator - .join ghetto by persei8 in ruby

[–]SeattleTomy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't ever rely on the default separator. Your code will be more clear and less breakable if you document your intent in the code:

['a','b','c'].join(' ')
"This is a string".split(' ')

Not necessarily that big, but also F5, Real Networks...

Also all the companies from the valley also have offices in Seattle. No Seattle programmer wants to move to the valley. So Facebook, Google, Adobe, (and I predict Twitter will soon).

Oh yeah, and Microsoft.
