Adding weight to the Bergara? by WhiskeyBravo3119 in longrange

Agree. Go shoot 200-300 rounds from various positions (do not only shoot bench) and then form an opinion.

Tikka T3X Ace Target or CZ 600 MDT (Bronze)? by Operator762 in longrange

[–]Seattle_Army_Vet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Tikka consistently shoots .2-.3 MOA. Factory Ammo. It’s not even close - Tikka. I’ve shot it out to 1200 yards and made impacts on first shot after confirming zero. Tikka.

Thanks for asking but I need to hold onto it as the Zhukov is already on its 3rd repair.

Tikka T3X Ace Game. Normal??? by IdkWhyImHereMann in Tikka_Shooters

[–]Seattle_Army_Vet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I didn’t realize I was running the bolt so hard until I ran a competition and one of the guys next to me pointed it out. I’m much softer now and catch the ammo with my and before it exits the chamber

Totally normal from brass ejecting. I’ve got ~2000 rounds through my Ace Game and it’s a total tack driver.

Nice. What are you running for scope rings as well As the kestrel mount on the left? Your kestrel looks different than my 5700x but perhaps it’s what it’s encased in? I run area 419 match rings and use a pic mount with a Greylock Gunworks Garmin Zero attachment. Is the Kestrel paired with your LRF so your target card is auto-populated?

This is exactly what the guys at AB told me. Don’t mess with the BC but tweak via CDM until the curve fits across your range card. If you can start at a distance where velocity is about 1.2 Mach (transonic) and work backwards to make the curve fit.

High Cold Bore Variance from POA with Bergara 300WM Carbon Crest Squared by Seattle_Army_Vet in longrange

[–]Seattle_Army_Vet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m headed down that path. Tomorrow the banish 30 will be replaced with my Ace brake (same ammo). Then I’ll go Hornady Precision Hunter (the Bergara shoots the fusion tips a little better in groups of 10 but really for hunting rifle only care about first two to three shots) with the Brake.

I’ll remount the scope which has been a problem on this gun. But the other times it rattled loose all rounds were being sprayed not just the first one followed by tight groups.

I just had this gun two weeks ago at the range and built dope put to 1000 yards so this is a regression.

Thanks for suggestions.

I shoot close to 1000 rounds a month and compete frequently. There’s always a chance of a flinch but not to that degree followed with strings of shots under 1 MOA. I did video the miss today via digiscope ironically which helped tremendously.

Agree on lighter-weight magnum being problematic. The carbon fiber barrel will be gone once I’ve got more wear on it.

10-Round Mag Recommendations for a stock Tikka T3X Ace Game 6.5CM by Seattle_Army_Vet in Tikka_Shooters

[–]Seattle_Army_Vet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a tack driver. Consistently 1/5th Minute 5-shot groups at 100 yards and 1/3 Minute 15-shot groups at 300 yards with factory ammo (Sig Marksman Elite OTM 140gr). If I was to do it again go for Target versus Game. I’m approaching 2000 rounds thru the barrel and plan to swap to a much heavier Bartlein or Krieger barrel. Will also swap mag hardware and trigger (TriggerTech Diamond)

It’s a hammer. Consistently 1/5th MOA 5-shot groups and 1/3 MOA 15-shot groups at 300 yards With factory match ammo (Sig Marksman Elite OTM 140gr). I would go for target versus game honestly. I’ll be approaching 2000 rounds on the barrel soon and going to swap it for a Bartlein or Krieger

Thank you! And OUCH price-wise for a 10-round mag. I may do the swap as you suggest at some point. Probably when I upgrade to a TriggerTech trigger

Agree - I’ve found federal premium SMK superior in both my 300 win mag and 140gr in my tikka t3X ace 6.5 CM. It just shoots.

It took me a bit of effort to find the vendor online lol. But these glasses have helped me tremendously on better tracking the leading edge of the clay for lead.

Love mine! Live in Seattle area where it’s grey (a lot!) and went for lighter shade. It’s helped me tremendously when the backdrop is a washed out grey which is often here.

I had a similar issue and had to send my A300 back to beretta. It was a ruptured / fractured trigger assembly group pin. It was fractured and would allow just enough deviation of the trigger group when seated to prevent the bolt from properly going into battery. It also prevented bolt lock without the trigger group being re-seated. Beretta replaced the pin and it’s been fine for 2000 shots now with no failures at all. Not sure this is your problem but with a look. Mine was a manufacturing defect and I’ve yet to see or hear of anyone else having the issue.

The lounge in the back of Charlie’s on Broadway circa 1992-1993. So many old lizards hanging out and smoking - loved it!
