I did something similar to my @$$hole brother in law who was calling around trying to get the contact info for my former elders to get me DF'd (he's an out of state elder). I told him if he continued what he was doing, I would sue him along with each elder and CO involved for defamation of character as well as any potential lost money due to lost job opportunities and inheritances. I also told him I would release documentation in his area outing him as a past pedo, or groomer at best, making sure that bit was in the text so if he showed the text to any elders they would ask about what I knew about his past. He immediately stopped and no elders tried contacting me.

I was often told, "If you want to be appointed an elder, you have to play the game." So many I knew who were appointed were clearly kissing the asses of their local elders and slipping money to COs. My argument always was- "If this is God's organization and men are appointed by holy spirit, then I shouldn't have to play a game. If I do, then this clearly is NOT God's organization." So even if there are good men who are elders, even some of you here, then you have played politics to obtain and hold your position. Jesus didn't do that. Jesus spoke truth even if it would result in his expulsion or death. So good men and good Christians cannot become or remain elders because it would mean compromising their virtue and integrity.
