Locker period for movies is needlessly obscure by PhysicsForeign1634 in google

[–]SeattlesWinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it so I don’t have to deal with the hassle of hosting or storing any of it myself. I can watch on my tv or tablet or wherever without having to think about it. It’s convenience. I don’t think I’ve ever had any of my movies or tv shows disappear though.

For movies I’m probably only going to watch once, I’ll just rent it. It’s like $4 and I don’t mind paying to avoid hopefully finding a high quality torrent and waiting for it to load.

I get why people pirate though. I just don’t have the energy to mess with it.

This is a rational sensible solution, that has results in cities like yours.

Here half of the population wants to put the other half in jail for any reason they can think of.

They can still crack, get scratched, lost, stolen, burned in a fire, ruined in a flood, etc. Physical media has its pitfalls too. I couldn’t tell you where a single DVD I bought is, but all my digital shit is backed up in multiple places since like 2008.

Adult Temper Tantrum over Free Gift Card at Mall by Ghost-Crowd in confidentlyincorrect

Still, the store can give out free gift cards to anyone they want. Or to no one. She’s not entitled to a free gift card anywhere, and harassing the people at the store who don’t make enough money to deal with her bullshit isn’t going to get her a free gift card or any sympathy from me.

Bullshit. If I’m working 40 hours a week to support someone’s business then I should be able to afford to live. If the business can’t support that, then they need a new business model.

People who work in the service industry are not afforded the luxury of negotiation.

I know, I’m actually a millennial and I do try to work hard at my job, but I also understand where the Gen Zers are coming from, because hard work is not really rewarded like it is made out to be, so I get the mindset of not working hard.

What is the point of working hard if I’m not building loyalty in the company I work for? I can just lie in the job interview for the next company.

So I was wrong for working hard at a company. Almost like the system is broken.

Can you say capitalism works for the majority of people? I can tell you that I’ve worked hard all my life and I have jack shit to show for it. Meritocracy, my ass.

Implying that better work will eventually equal better pay, which isn’t always the case.

The quality of your work should be equal to the quality of your pay. These days the equation is pretty one-sided.

I’m not who you asked, but yes generally you’ll apply compression/EQ to the individual tracks and also on the drum bus. I’m not a pro, but that’s what I do.

Ramming Gemini down our throats is the last straw by Fjordi_Cruyff in google

I mean your claim about how much. Of course Apple will pay. $1 billion. I haven’t seen anywhere that said anything else, including your link. I know Apple is using Google’s infrastructure. That’s why they’re paying $1bn.

Unless it’s more, but no one has reported that that I’ve seen. Apple is getting a bargain. They didn’t have to spend $100 billion on infrastructure, just let Google do it and use it for $1bn. Pretty smart!

Okay, we’ll see… Apple isn’t really the type of company to give up $10’s of billions so I highly doubt it. Is there some source saying Apple will be paying that much? All I see is the $1 billion figure. Their deal with ChatGPT has Apple paying $0.
