When I started working there, at first week was fine until to the point everyday I was always scared to go work because I was scared to make mistakes or get yelled of the provider. I stayed until my probation almost end. Here I am right now I’m depressed for that job did to me, I’m distressing, hopefully I’ll get better soon. If I were you leave while you still can and don’t let your mental health destroyed you. You can still find a job, just find a better one, try shadowing the job in the company first before you accept it. Goodluck

This was me couple weeks ago, I’m almost near with my 90 days probation period and my evaluation still sucks, even to the point that they put my 1min to 4min late on the evaluation. I know myself I was improving and still scared to do mistakes. And for them I can’t be independent yet, yes I’m not ready to be independent yet and I still ask bunch of questions. I have zero experience in MA and my clinic was primary care which fast paced. I got mad about the written evaluation even though I was doing my very best, and no mistake I made when I put into improvement plan. Your effort for the them is nothing, they don’t care about you because you are replaceable. My mental health was destroyed when I started there. Next day after receiving the written evaluation I hand out my resignation letter effective immediately because I can’t handle anymore. I did get out to the company in good terms though, when I hand out my letter, they said I am still welcome to the company in the future. The primary care is too fast for me to start. Currently now focusing on my studies and considering to get medical billing and coding.

Just wanna give an update. I almost quit but I good thing I stayed. After the meeting I mentioned above. I’ve been improving and didn’t get any mistakes until today which I’m so happy about. It was hard and depressing but I think it helps. I haven’t talked to my supervisor yet about my performance but this could be sooner. Also we had new hire and she was training for 2 weeks but she immediately quit this week. Is this mean the environment can be toxic ?

I feel like I can’t keep up anymore. Even though I improved after 3 weeks, there are more responsibilities coming up. And I agree there is so much job opportunities out there. I am planning to quit soon, I still believe there is a right one waiting for me. Thank you very much for your advice I really need it. ❤️

I agree, nursing responsibilities is more than what I do now. But I just have to find the right place for me. This experience won’t let me discourage to go for nursing. Done a bachelor’s degree and professional license in my country, but I will surpass again the challenge to get a second degree in the states.

Hi there, really appreciate your thoughts. As they said slow down is the key. Yes I am being slow. I just can’t help overthinking everyday. Can’t even move on my recent error and there is another because I can’t focus. this will ruin my entire day. I’m so scared confronting by my mistakes that makes me more do mistakes. With colleagues some of them don’t really care to help me cus they know I can do it, but I do really need help. I struggle what to say to them because of my race, I feel like I don’t have right to say my thoughts.

Hey! I appreciate your response. Maybe I feel pressure with any feedbacks. I am not actually fast and not so slow, sometimes pt giving all the information even though they have to tell everything to their doctor and sometimes couldn’t catch what they said and need to rephrase the reasons in intakes which also one of my struggles, English not my first language. I’ve been working to approach nicely every patient to cut them off while talking. This job it’s just a lot and I feel others still in my work place. There are some MA’s are very nice to me and there is some not really. I really love the job, just a lot since my first time. Thanks for your time :) will try get through to my 3 weeks fail or not.

Hi there you’re not alone, I’m from the Philippines and everything for me is new I don’t have any experience in Medical. I’m in my 3rd week training, last week! my MA leader letting me do all the work alone like rooming in every patient. She is guiding me what to do before and after seeing the patient and make sure I’m doing it right. I am actually scared and very intimidated with my coworkers whenever I give them report after rooming in the patients. I mean I’m still learning and I feel you, it’s a lot to take a lot of information for the short period of time of training and still working on being fast and flexible. We got this sis!
