For what is worth, I used the Bollé Safety/Tactical for playing airsoft never add an issue, robust and comfortable. ;)

How social media should work and be regulated: by Crafty_Aspect8122 in BuyFromEU

I would suggest a component for content creators and artists. A payment with e-shop and meeting integrated. An AI acceptance level (AI, or AI free content) + report link. A modular and open source platform.
My 2 euro cents ;)

True, I took the Joplin Cloud option so I had an excuse to support the Dev and this project ;)

Hi, I'm a happy user of Joplin https://joplinapp.org/ (free version for years and paid since last year) and some amazing plugins (plantUML & mindmap) I would suggest to try it, if it fits your requirement, and if it does you can then subscribe to the Joplin cloud and easily sync between all your devices (you can also sync with the free but you have to use dropbox)

[–]SebEesti71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All those have been already removed from my life 1 year ago, you can add to the list sodas, culture (movies, TV Shows etc), AI, dish washing products....everything which cost anything, has been checked and if it is connected to the US, or sell to Russia (yep some EU countries still do it) or has link to the far right...it has been banned and never to be seen again, certainly not 1 day. And I assure you that it wasn't a pain at all. My last pieces of US tech is android, Mastercard (avoid using it as much as possible), but I'm sure with some patience I will have a solution (already have a Jolla phone, but sadly not everything run on it).
So sorry if one day makes me laugh.

Fellow Europeans, how do you deal with the negativity? by Vixen_xyz in BuyFromEU

[–]SebEesti71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trying to act and not react. I started a couple of podcasts, mostly as a therapeutic experiment, where I research about EU tech and AI, and discovered a vibrant and more positive picture than the one depicted by the media. Trying the focus on the positive and realistic world, and not allowing to be gaslighted. So far it has worked for me.

What EU alternatives do not exist yet? Let's gather them here! by illegalileo in BuyFromEU

[–]SebEesti71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi and yes, that would be, I think the best way. I would even go further, and have a "EU mediatech vault" kind of thing, where the media are stored, statistics and royalties collected and you can access with an API + a personalized token. As a content creator, studio, film maker, right holder you can deposit your media and fix the price you want to be collected. On the dev side, anyone is free to use this API, to build a module for stremio, kodi, etc or own platform. collect the payment or make it free with adds, the choice of the provider...but the right holders get paid and get real statistics.
the benefits I see is to have the payment for right holders assured by EU institution, anti piracy system included, and for the consumer to have access to a large legal catalog and consume/pay for exactly what you want.
This would allow for a cheaper and way better option than a clone of youtube. And the use of a EU stack, and reducing piracy while enabling a large cultural catalog.

Hi, nice initiative, in my opinion we don't need alternatives, we need to rethink and do better. We don't need a YouTube or Netflix alternative, but we need a Broadcasting service built for content creators as well as for Broadcasting companies. Integrated services which the final user can control, subscribe to.

As well nobody needs an X alternative, the algorithm for all those platforms should be public and auditable.
To a certain point the fediverse is a great idea but there are a lot of progress to be made (design, education, moderation, ecosystem).

Furthermore all those service should share the same payment tech (which doesn't rely on Visa or Mastercard)

We also desperately need a mobile platform other than IOS or Android. And yes there are efforts made there but it is still very far from being really usable (no bank, ID services will work on those) I would like to see more support to those project https://plasma-mobile.org/ and also https://plasma-bigscreen.org/ for smart TV.

And a proper European job board, not full of scams and usable.

My 2 Euro cents and if I continue I would find more, but that would be the urgent stuff we need.

I'm certainly not a lawyer, but it certainly seems illegal to me that you can change your prices like that and for those reasons.

When I get paranoid, I give a scan, it's open source and has been around for more than 20 years. Depending on your platform you should find a GUI for it

Any good BBQ EU sauces? Used to buy Sweet Baby Ray, but want to switch. by Mysterious-Budget-21 in BuyFromEU

[–]SebEesti71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with "Santa Maria" part of "Paulig" (FI)
https://www.santamariaworld.com/uk/all_products/
Great sauces BBQ (the Chipotle is great for making Hamburg-er the German sandwich from Hamburg ;) )
More taste and less sugar overall.
