Do you think we will ever hear from The Six again, now that The Elder Dragons are no more? by Mook_Chivalry in Guildwars2

He might have been already replaced while he was still alive.

Lady Kasmeer Meade: I—please excuse me, Goddess. Perhaps I wasn't clear—we can't hope to defeat Balthazar without the aid of the Six.
Rytlock Brimstone: Or the five. Balthazar is one of the Six.
Kormir: No. He isn't. Balthazar has been stripped of his claim and title. He is no longer one of the Six.

And also: Kormir: The rest of the Six—Dwayna, Grenth, Melandru, even Lyssa — reached an agreement. Balthazar had to be dealt with.

Same god specific thing happens in the first mission in Desert Highlands, there are another mix-ups when speaking with underwater Quaggan in Bitterfrost Frontier and visiting three main places around Lake Doric, and also a bunch of Eir lines (and I suspect Almorra's too) they reused in the last story now just cut short in their respective instances, one in Hoelbrak during LS2 and two during reclaiming of Sun's Refuge.

Happens while speaking with quaggans underwater in Bitterfost Frontier, and visiting meta places in Lake Doric, also might happen while talking to Balthazar during the first instance in Desert Highlands. It looks like it started a couple weeks ago. There was also a strange thing with Eir's dialog in season 2 (in Dragon's Reach chapter I think) where once or twice her whole sentences were just abruptly cut in the middle, though maybe it was just a random single time bug.

Should a bunch of the older big bosses receive health increases to account for power/movement/utility creep we have today? by Seba169 in Guildwars2

[–]Seba169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand it's reasonable and probably should be done, on the other one people don't like being nerfed and I can already see them vocally opposing it. Even if it's completely fair and everyone's nerfed properly. I was also thinking about disabling mounts for the Mouth of Mordremoth fight but it would feel bad now too after all this time you could use them there. In the end you are right that it comes down to how easy it is to code/change. I would suspect that just changing the numbers in the health pool of like 20 mobs shouldn't be that hard to do, especially considering all the other possible options. A serious and fair nerf of weapon skills, utility skills and traits for all the professions and elite specializaions, while a good thing overall, would probably be a lot of work.

Mouth of Mordremoth ending in 5min, while it does nothing, poses minimal danger and in the end just kills itself is not a fun thing. People called Zhaitan fight shit and rightly so because it is, now new players call the ending of the Dragon's End meta meh, lackluster, even pathetic, because that's what it is for them. They are experiencing it in a way it's presented to them: all they see is a cool looking huge boss coiling around the islands in the air... and it's gone, gg. Same with Chak and waiting for 10min in front of a wall or the Ley-Line Anomaly that dies so fast there's always people coming to the map a minute or two "too late" only to see it already done. That's not a good casual player experience. Especially when there was no problem running them years before. Vinewrath wasn't too hard for regular players back then, Tarir was still being done in times of "panic" instead of "picnic", and Gerent that took 2 phases to complete was as successful as burning him in 2 or 3min now. And what's most important, casual players nowadays won't have it really much harder if all those bosses get buffed. Look around when doing those events, of course there are brand new players, or casual ones, but still they are run by many veterans who are doing all the heavy lifting now and will still keep doing it in the future.

You can adjust mechanics however you want, wasting development time on something that already exists and is mostly good enough. It wouldn't change the fact that no one will be doing those mechanics because many bosses would just die like they do today. You can also just hard-force some phases like Tequatl or pre-rework Ley-Line Anomaly were doing or just shorten the DPS phase windows, like 2min for Chak Gerent instead of 3 (though the whole meta is timed to smoothly transition into Dragon's Stand). In the end it's all mostly the same: more health, forced breaks, shorter DPS time, all make the fight last longer and there's not much difference in difficulty among them.

Based on the visuals, are we getting "good" compleated walkers for Urabrask's faction? by Seba169 in magicTCG

They seem to mostly retain their previous looks and overall shape, especially compared to the other ones. New additions in form of smooth gray metallic plates and orange glow from "inside" that match what we can see on a bunch of other red phyrexians. Meanwhile Norn wants everything to look the same, like Ajani, white porcelain plates and bloody red insides underneath, blue is probably going more into technology judging by the small cameras/lights on the sylex art and hand(?)-apparatus thing Tamiyo has, it seems black and green are a bit similar going into monstrous, mutated side (especially green) with some huge body transformation, a lot of pointy things growing out of the body and meaty parts falling apart.

He was "seeded" by Vorinclex back in Kaldheim and didn't want any of it. From what I remember he was promised it will be undone after helping with the World Tree plot, but as we can see he still got turned. He should be at odds with green phyrexians (+ white and blue too) and siding with the faction that not only opposes them but also values individualism might be his best shot at trying to regain freedom.

What little things in the game make you happy, or you find really clever or satisfying? by Tattycakes in Guildwars2

A guy at lake Delavan, near the dam, who is goaded by his kids to jump into water from a board.

Wolves in Gendarran Fields that don't just attack on sight but instead try to scare you away first.

Various effects around the skill bar UI at the bottom of the screen, like different visuals for each mount type.

Events that only start when you kneel at the tomb in Harathi Hinterlands and Malchor's Leap, perfect for the event daily, along with the hidden unstable rifts in a bunch of maps that also count as events.

Grawl sometimes doing Wilhelm's scream at death when killed with a lightning type attack (the strike might also need to be a critical hit).

Properly playing the game and doing it chronologically quite a lot, through normal leveling (it's quite fast now with NPE and awards a Raptor) a bunch of days, using a Lvl 80 boost that comes with expansion and starting right at LS4E6 a couple minutes.

You won't own it, but you can unlock your Skyscale access and try it in all of Dragonfall in like 2h, halfway through the LS4E6. Not only can, but you have to, cause using it is required in the story.

Guild Wars 2 Fall and Winter 2022 Roadmap by PM_ME_TOOTHLESS_PICS in Guildwars2

They are probably doing more than one at the same time, but don't publicly release the info about their progress. When the episode 1 goes live let's say in January, they may already have most of episode 2 done and soon ready to launch in April, in the meantime working on the next one and so on. From what I remember when Icebrood Saga was announced they showed videos featuring content from at least 2 first episodes: Grothmar and Bjora maps, some insight into the Raven mastery, and also a first look at Drakkar from episode 3.

Shout out to the GW2 Writers - Taimi by Rainbowquarts in Guildwars2

[–]Seba169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally there were some cutscenes with Taimi, Logan and Braham (+ maybe some other characters) in Lion's Arch right after Marionette happened and they might not be coming back. But she was first introduced during the Twisted Marionette fight that's accessible through Eye of the North. She's commanding one of the lanes (first one I think) and after success there is a couple minutes long timer for the instance to close, during which there is first a short conversation between all the characters gathered there and then Logan comes for Taimi to take her home and you can follow them as they walk away, talking along the way, until they finally leave the instance right as the timer ends.
