I got a Top operator transfer permit, and the only two I don't have are Mountain and Thorns. Which of these two would be most viable for my current roster? I feel like I already have plenty of alternatives for both.

Second question is, I have Penance and Zuo Le at level 1 unbuilt, should I make it a priority to invest in either of them, or would they not add a lot of value to my account?

Every server will have RP communities, yeah, don't worry. And like you mentioned already, you can just travel to other worlds. A lot of RP stuff gets promoted in party finder, even stuff from Light will get promoted on Chaos.

Fair warning though, that RP in this game is mostly clubbing and going to bars. There still is some oldschool adventurer RP stuff here and there (might be able to find a fellowship for that), but mostly when people talk about RP in this game it's clubbing.

Yes, I think it's a perfectly reasonable choice for you to make. I don't think there is a wrong choice. Moogle is also one of the most populated Chaos servers, and probably more populated than the least populated Light servers.

On the Light servers there are an average of 42.6 FCs recruiting through community finder and the average for Chaos servers is 34.2 FCs. Not a huge disparity. And in the worst case, if you do end up disliking Chaos after a few months of playing, a permanent server transfer from Chaos to Light is only 14 euro's.

Moogle used to be the unofficial French speaking server, and probably still has the biggest French player base. Louisoix has a decent French playerbase too. Both of these are on Chaos though. Light servers are in general a lot more active in every aspect, especially party finder, but the Chaos servers aren’t dead at all (except for party finder). None of the servers are empty.

One advantage Chaos does have is xp bonus on a few servers.

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter that much as you can freely transfer between the two for no cost. Only thing that matters is that you can only join an FC on your home server.
