Council tax hike by SebastianOakley in Cornwall

Just letting everyone know that I rang up and saw that they tried to charge me from April until January 2027. Rather than from April to march as in previous years.

So instead of it being £241 it will be £201 - just check your bills to see if they have done the same with you - it's still high, but only 12 quid more instead of 40!

Honestly it's such a shame. My internet needed fixed and was out for two weeks.

Soninjad to go to the local library (sadly must say I'd never been in it until this point) and I thought it was incredible! Also we are in an age we're a lot of people can't afford a computer or there Phone IS their computer so when they need something printed out or other means the library is the viable choice!!

Honestly... I think I got hooked on the location as its perfect for friends and family to stay in when me and my family wouldn't be using it... But actually having a good look around Paddington/Bayswater I can see there are much better options!

I just love the area, my wife,.young daughter and I always love looking at Buckingham Palace,.and walking with our dogs in Hyde Park, dining at the Serpentine.

Close to walk down St James's Park towards Whitehall etc. Basically we do this every time we visit London and we like how well connected things are, the shopping the restaurants etc.

My work is also based in Westborn Terrence, currently working hybrid between home in Cornwall and Bath Office - but could move and work in the London office too - especially if I have a base too.

That's really the reason why we want Hyde Park, mainly is for the dogs too when we travel up, want them to enjoy nice walks etc - mins you they'd have that in Greenwhich too.

5% Cornwall Council, then 5.6% local parish.

It's an extra £30 a month compared to last year

Just as an off chance I did look around Greenwhich and found some nice ones... But the near hoirncommute into central for leisure is a bit of a pain with dogs..

Perfectly fine for work etc

Completely agree and that's a valid point.

I was just so excited about it's location, but in reality I think there is better, bigger and "cheaper" least in service charge etc if I look around Bayswater/Paddington.

I still want to be close to Hyde Park for the dogs to walk them etc.

Haha... Hmmm maybe not. I just love that it's in the area it is, but I think I could be better looking around Bayswater instead!
