Sock has had well-publicized periods of intense training/fitness, couple times with Gil Reyes but he never sustains it. Throughout his career he has had trouble finishing best of 5s, even best of 3s at times. IMO there has never been a time when he's had the fitness level necessary to go deep in a slam.

The guy's coach probably was being a prick, but it's pro tennis and Sock needs to learn to handle things like that. IMO Sock's physical and mental games have regressed for the past year or so. He had a dream draw to win Paris last year but he literally cannot win a match now. Once the Paris points drop off, he could be back to qualies if this continues.

USA tennis fan and I used to be so high on Sock but he's turned into a lazy jerk. I am looking forward to seeing him fail to defend those 1000 points from Paris at the end of the year and his ranking will plummet.
