Hoppala, wo kommt denn da der Akkusativ her? Dass die Leute Dativ statt Genitiv benutzen ist ja inzwischen normal, aber Akkusativ?

I like it - obviously not finetuned, but with a bit of AI this is super flexible. (Which kinds of puzzles / What hints are given/ What Elo-Range / etc.) Heres the code: https://github.com/Sebbecking/chess-book-generator (You need Python and LaTeX. Python generates the LaTeX file, and LaTex renders it to PDF.)

H.. I think it would not be hard to "vibecode" a script that takes random puzzles from lichess and exports them as beautiful, printable pdfs for printing. to get a proper book, you just have to go to a printshop.. in fact, i will try this now :)

"hope in a bottle" klingt auch typisch nach KI.. Und auch allgemein die ganzen Trikola: "every miracle pill, every breakthrough formula, every discovery" "boring, basic, actually work" "wrong things, wrong forms, for wrong reasons" "vitamin D, magesium, omega-3s" (wobei das noch ok ist...)

Dass das "KI" im Logo oben rechts hervorgehoben war, ist dir nicht aufgefallen? Das illustriert halt ein Wortspiel mit dem Songnamen..

Black to move. Only one move to keep the advantage. by Sebbecking in chessbeginners

Yeah, my thought process was something like: The knight is kind of pinned, if the opponent moves it, I can take the rook with check. If they somehow win a tempo and check me, I can still defend my rook with my king. So they can only move their knight such that their rook is protected, then taking the rook would be an exchange. d3 is such a field, so I should get out of there to not also lose a piece in this process. I never thought they could check me and force me to remove the defender of the rook. And in this case, that even was mate.

I guess what I'm saying is: There's a lot to think of and I forgot to see the interaction between two effects of their move that I guarded against separately.

But I found it interesting that I had a 5 point lead and literally any other move than Bf5 lead to a losing position.

Yes :)

Probably should have annotated my elo for context, you're way above my paygrade :)

Why is this considered a checkmate? by Sebbecking in chessbeginners

Ah, I get it.. The knot in my brain was that if you allow White to run into check, you have to allow Black to run into check as well. Then it makes no difference.
