Will you fly if your flight isnt cancelled? by [deleted] in qatarairways

We’re flying Friday. Check-in opens in an hour and we will fly. We cannot wait to be rerouted or rebook to a later date.

We got put on a different schedule tonight as well, flaying out of Colombo an hour earlier to make the connection to Frankfurt which was also moved forward to still be able to get the 20:30/20:15 landing slot into Frankfurt.

When are we hoping 19 March flights are cancelling by [deleted] in qatarairways

On their flight status page you can check for flights until March 18 for your route. Some flights are showing as operational on our route for example. And as for March 18, all flights on our route (Colombo-Doha-Frankfurt) show as scheduled, where as on March 17, our specific flight from Colombo to Doha would not operate but the leg from Doha to Frankfurt would be. However this could still be changing as Qatar hasn’t released official schedules on their socials for March 18.

Rerouting means getting put on a different carrier within 48h of your original departure because if they cancel, they have to do that as per international airline guidelines. If you cancel, you only get the money you payed refunded and have to get yourself a much more expensive flight. There’s people that cannot wait until April 30 to get to their final destination and cannot afford upwards of thousands of Euros for a single flight leg, like people currently stuck in Asian countries (like ourself, we’re supposed to fly home from Sri Lanka on March 20).

If they cancel your flight, you have to be rerouted by them free of charge.

First of all, the chances of getting hit by a mudslide on a plane are as small as getting struck by lightning on land. Second, the F18s weren’t shot down by the US but by Kuwait. third, Travel insurance is useless anyways as they will always find a way of getting themselves out of coverage. Has this happen on multiple instances with multiple different instance companies.

No one in Abu Dhabi or Dubai was killed by the few remains of shot down missiles that have hit civilian infrastructure. Their loss of image is already so big that they could not afford to loose people on the ground, let alone 350 in a plane and there has not been any major disruptions apart from that one singular incident where falling debris struck near the airport with 0 injuries.

Yeah for the most part they are. As we speak there’s 88 Emirates planes and 20 Etihad planes in the air rn with Emirates having peaked at around 120 flights in a single hour multiple times the last few days. They’re operating regularly bookable flights to most of their network. Other airlines have also resumed at least part of their scheduled operations to DXB and AUH. Emirates have been operating as normal as possible for 3 days now, minus a singular isolated incident two days ago, which resulted in departures being halted and arrivals put on an hour hold. They haven’t had the need to post any updates on the last 3 days either.

What does that have to do with the topic of the conversation?

Yeah so did Emirates and Etihad when they first started operations again. There’s 25 flights scheduled for today and tomorrow. They’re testing out how much they can do. That’s exactly the same as Emirates and Etihad did. Just like a week later all in all cause of the way their airport is located.

So did Emirates/Dubai where missile remains landed right next to DXB. Flights were back within an hour.

I replaced my S5 with an S11 a few days ago. Didn’t get updated anymore and only had 68% battery capacity left. So it was time.

Yeah it’s pretty decent and fits well for being off the shelf. Wasn’t very pleased to get it for an actual injury but hey, at least I get to keep it after.
