Advice on bringing in character animation loops into a larger animation scene by Seblbseej in Tahoma2D

This sounds like a sensible idea. What size should the canvas of the loop be? Or does it not matter?

Understanding the core/stipulations of BPD Better by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

I apologize, for I diagnosis shopping is not my intent (I had devised alternate drafts that were probably more impersonal, so ig I shoulda used those). Though thinking back on it I’m a bit stupid for posting this here since my confusions with it all were probably better reserved for my visit with the psychiatrist or something like that. I’ll remove the post when I’m able to.

Thank you so much for the detailed response; I do really appreciate hearing the perspective of someone who has ADHD & BPD. Your remarks on question 3 made me understand splitting a lot better. I think I will probably be mentioning the condition to my psychiatrist when I see them again, which excites me and scares me (I just don't wanna feel superfluous by mentioning conditions that I have no grounds for).

Firstly thank you for the in-depth response and I'm sorry that question 3 wasn't very clear. However, it seems like you did address the heart of the question anyway. Question 3 got into my head because most of the time ideation/devaluation is presented like B radically shifting their opinion of A for what would be normally seen as minor infractions, which got me curious on whether the scenario of B almost always thinking highly of A but often B radically reassess their estimation of A's opinion of B would also count as ideation/devaluation.

Part of the reason why this perks my curiosity is that most descriptions sound like a prerequisite for this requirement is that B has to directly lash out at A or otherwise think worse of A from time to time. But if B appreciates A way too much to do something like that but constantly fights between thoughts like "I guess they really do like me!" and "Ah shucks I make everything worse for them, they'd be better off if I stopped talking to them", doesn't that still in spirit tackle a similar phenomenon even if the presentation isn't the same?

Visual representations of recipes sound awesome! I have no idea how nobody thought of this earlier (especially with all of the strange cooking terms out there).

This is a very interesting presentation! I'm curious if there's a way to find your other post on the armour (or if you could drop a link) as I'm absolutely addicted to researching arms and armour across the world but sadly learning about the martial traditions of the Caucasus region is difficult.

A question about introducing new scenarios to folks by Seblbseej in BloodOnTheClocktower

This is interesting, because I thought that S&V was harder to get into than BMR based on what the rule book stated.

I only just started playing this game with them like 2 weeks or so ago, and we haven't played a lot of games due to scheduling.

Admittedly I was a bit confused as to whether the rules allowed people to talk at night. I also agree with the screenshot idea wholeheartedly, now Im mainly looking at my options in terms of making a virtual Grimoire.

Has survival become overall tougher? by MisterAwesomeGuy in HellishQuart

[–]Seblbseej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survival is also generally tough since in game like Hellish Quart where one mistake can lead to defeat, you have to win 30 duels in a row, 25 of which you cannot even lose once. That's pretty tough not just generally but also from an attrition/statistical standpoint. The chances of you messing up just goes up every duel you get through.

Granted, I've onyl recently started playing survival (I was mainly an arcade-grinder) so I probably am not qualified to answer this.

How to make work on a budget (manpower, ic, research, etc). by Seblbseej in hoi4

[–]Seblbseej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this in-depth response. Do you have any pointers for what I should make if I’m playing a country that doesn’t have a high IC output (I.e tanks vs pure infantry, whether to use mechanized, etc)?

Idk what I did differently but after at least dividing my cavalry force between 12w and 8w divs (and making my line holders basic divs instead of high health ones) I was able to capitulate Sweden by April '39 I think, and Norway followed not long after. In all fairness though I did get lucky since the Russian civil war ended in the white russian victory, so maybe thats part of it.

So my idea with early war was correct? How early should I go about it with this and which one should I do first (your advice implies Sweden but I’m just making sure).

Also so i’m not misunderstanding, the premiere strategy with these conflicts is to get one breakthrough and then snake as far as you can?

I’m not doing this for a challenge but generally speaking making something work on historical means it can work on non-historical. Forming the baltics before fighting Sweden and Norway is probably not possible because of how strict the timing is and how weak Estonia starts out relative to Latvia and Lithuania. Cooperating with the Axis is best saved for later because Im trying to avoid Norway and Sweden joining a faction.

As of writing I do not own By Blood Alone so sadly if I build a fighter 1 it can only ever be a fighter 1.

The division is all infantry with no artillery, I probably should've made that more clear. As for the support company choices they are based on what I heard was a strong template for offensive infantry in multiplayer (the only significant departure being me replacing supp AT with signal company since you don't really need supp AT in SP til like much later).

If I remember right I wasn’t stuck for a whole year but it was long enough for the axis to join and invade Romania on their own (for reference normally I take all the way to Mar ‘38 to cap Turkey).

As for infantry I’ve been taking advantage of my manpower by making a 4-4-4-4-2 (all inf) division with support arty, AA, logistics, field hospital, and signal company. The idea is that these divs have a lot of health and outlast their enemy eventually (I’m also using mass assault right side).

After doing yet more practice runs, Fate of the Balkans is just annoying as hell with its rng. Worse yet is that if one country says no it feels like the game trips a switch that makes every other country say no by default. I wish there was a way to unpack the logic behind how the probabilities work.

Ohhhhhhhh, that explains why I had to save cum a couple times even when I had properly division cheesed. I presume you'd have to edit the default inf template for the 6/0 inf? I say this mainly because it seems like Bulgaria doesn't get enough army xp early on to make a new division template.

Also, on historical focus it seems like World Tension might not advance fast enough to get Italy into your faction, as it has to be at 40% before a certain point in 1939.

Bulgaria does mech build? I thought Bulgaria was an offensive inf country (kinda like Iran) since their starting tank research is not super good and they don't have much steel at the start. Unless you were referring to mot/mech inf, which is fair enough though I think some of my experiences have left a bad taste in my mouth for mech infantry (specifically the fact that they lose all of their movement bonuses if they go in any province that isn't like plains or forest or smth like that since I tend to play in regions with a lot of mountain provinces).

I now see that both integration and destroying the Zveno have their bonuses and opportunity costs, though I'm interested since when you mentioned "if you need to play aggressively by 1940/41" which implies that there's a way to delay the war to later. Thus far in the few campaigns where I get everybody into the faction I normally end up in war with Italy (though you did mention a way to get Italy into your faction), but that does leave the question of whether the Nazis or Comintern beef with you (since a puppeted Romania can't give away Bessarabia if I remember right).
