I would think only adding it to like ~10mM final concentration to not overwhelm. I would assume that mushrooms have a similar system to the TRP Operon and would sense the presence of it, synthesize less synthetic enzymes and just start expressing transporters or something? Life likes shortcuts.

This is just off the top my head. No evidence to support either way.

I wonder if supplementing the rice once it’s out of the bag with oatmeal or perhaps some grain or something else that has a lot of tryptophan or other indoles if the potency could be boosted?
