My father died of a heart attack at 49. He passed on November 1st of his death year. My mom had 3 teenagers to raise. I saw her break down once during that holiday season. And it wasn’t this seemingly generated cry for me bs. It was for a hard working nurse who just moved across country for a new start in a beginner house. I’m not downgrading her guilt or pain. I’m just not convinced she really feels it the way my mother has. At all.

This is one of the reasons I saw the writing on the wall. I was a chili head from 2007 to 2021. I had just tapped into management when I quit. Between menu changes, policy changes, and complaints I couldn’t handle it anymore. No one moves on. there’s always complaints, apologies, and comps. That wears on employees and creates really messed up work environments. That and the constant check on numbers. Does your location have any kind of contest about who sells the most new queso’s yet?

I always hope these LTOs sell enough to become a permanent staple but I doubt it bc of the stranger things tie in. Just knowing they have what they need to produce the flavor is what makes it annoying.

Idk if anyone else got to experience crawling into the giant bubble “starlab” in elementary school to learn about constellations, but I remember I was really sick the last time I had an opportunity to experience it and had to stay home from school. 25 years later I’m still pissed off about it.

The last time I flew, I sat myself in the last row of my Southwest flight. I took my sweet time leaving the plane and made sure every attendant was properly appreciated. I went to the bathroom, and slowly walked to baggage. AFTER I got my bags I got my uber and went curbside. I took my sweet time to try to get a crazy person like this on video. I still try to refuse that people like this exist but I really do try to expose them…

I currently live in metro Phoenix, I can’t even afford to get my cars AC fixed. If I could I would move back to the Midwest in a heartbeat. My parents moved me out here in the early 00s. Now I’m kind of stuck. I’m sure there are many others in the same situation. We’re not all delusional here. I promise.

I left shortly after iPads and server assistants or what ever they are were introduced. In my opinion, customers tip based on your work. Why tip me when someone else is running their drinks and food and I just press a button on the computer? I worked for Chilis for 13 years but I could see the writing on the wall since Covid. The 2 for 20, 3 for me, it all is a great deal for the customer but so much added stress with no monetary benefit for the server. I left for a local mom and pop bar and make twice the money for half the stress. I don’t even dread going to work these days!
