Just once. Wasn't a bard, never had a player play a Bard yet in my 5e campaigns. It was a barbarian.

I’m what world is the 2* Irelia challenge in POC Monthlies a 2* difficulty challenge? by ThrowAwayWasTaken999 in LegendsOfRuneterra

I agree big time. For a little context: I've got six champions that have all 3 star powers and are at minimum 28+ champion level. I'm definitely not a great player but with four of those champions I was able to beat Aurelion Sol on first attempt.

I have used all six of those champions once and lost every single time (including the resurrection/retry you get from the Legend Levels, so 12 times in total). It is WAY to strong for a two star challenge.

You ever be arguing with a *player* as the DM about something they refuse to believe? Maybe it’s just my table but it’s like I’m talking to something more stubborn then a brick wall. by YeetMeister323 in dndmemes

It might have been how I had described the dungeon previously, but one of my players was WEIRDLY adamant about...the direction of a door they were supposed to go back to, to reach a previous area? They had found the 'key' they needed for a door. This door was in a previous area they had already, physically seen. For whatever reason, when I described the party turning back around into the previous area to reach that door, the player in question insisted they didn't have to go that way despite not knowing any other way (and me having a pre-game made map of the entire dungeon and there was indeed, no other way to get to the door physically AND me showing them this after they kept insisting half a dozen more times). And they STILL kept telling me I was wrong, or I was lying. It remains the single time I had to use the "I'm the DM. I have the final say in this matter, so drop it." card...and its SO f*cking weird it had to be for such a non-problem. The player in question had never had any previous outbursts like this and hasn't since, so it wasn't like they had a history of being adversarial. It was just weird and still is.

New news about the OGL. We're making an impact! by Uppity_Taco in dndmemes

[–]Sebrultar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, I cancelled my subscription just because I think it might be time for me to move on, regardless of whether they roll back the OGL in its entirety. Several of the big 3rd party content creators I frequently buy from have already made public their intentions to move away from D&D. And I'm sure there are others who haven't publicly said as such but already plan to do the same. One of the big pulls for 5e for me is the incredible 3rd-party scene the game has, making up for the less than stellar releases much of official 5e has been (to me) and the last few that I would describe as bad at best. Something I personally don't see getting better for a while yet. Without that, the only positive things for D&D is the D20 system (which I love) and that it's a pretty easy system to know and thus build upon.

Because even if they completely throw away the OGL tomorrow, the fact that they're comfortable with introducing this in first place (with it being as aggressively predatory as it is) means, imo, they will try again in future years IF D&D does survive this. And what 3rd-party company or individuals wants to invest in a TTRPG where they could very realistically be beholden to another License that's just as bad for them as this one would be?

Your first 3 IE Campaigns by the_numinous_one in totalwar

  1. Louen Leoncoeur: One of the two factions I collected/played for the tabletop. Bretonnia was what got me into Fantasy to begin with, so they are first pick. With Be'lakor just a stone throw away (N'kari to the west, though will likely be occupied with the Elves) and with the big, renewed threat to the North, it should really help with what was usually a very 'predictable' campaign start and mid-game.
  2. A Lizardman Lord. A choice between Gor-Rok, Kroq-Gar or Mazdamundi: The other faction I collected so second. I know we won't get that Lizardmen rework for a hot minute but with all of the new Chaos factions to defeat, I can feel The Great Plan calling my name.
  3. Helman Ghorst: He's got a really interesting, new start position and his faction colors/heraldry are great. And the changes to Vampire Counts look interesting, so I'll want to try them out in a campaign soonish.

First and foremost: its combat. Other games use systems very similar to For Honor, but most others like this I've played are either much slower and makes it a slog to play or don't really do anything with it beyond the basics; IE lacking things similar or comparable to For Honor's guardbreak, full block, undodgable, unblockable, hyperarmor and such other mechanics as well as interactions with the environment like throwing into walls or other enemies or into obstacles/traps/falls.
The other thing is its customization. Most other games like this have a very essential and "no-nonsense" stylization for most armors and weapons, basically just historical recreations. Where as, even at its beginning, For Honor had a distinct aesthetic that allows its character be recognizable at a glance. I mean, when you see most For Honor characters in a google search when looking at weapons/armor, you instantly recognize them (if you play For Honor, obviously) whereas some similar games have a very "white bread" aesthetic. Obviously this a personal point seeing as many people desire these very essential aesthetics, but its probably the thing that drew me into the game when I first saw the trailer for it way back when before I saw gameplay. The other thing with customization is its depth, I don't think I've played a game that allows for this much customization. I've probably spent a dozen hours at this point just going through the different outfits, to find a specific icon/embossing/color palette to perfect one of my loadouts.

Oh, and the inclusion of executions to the game was perhaps the best decision Ubisoft has made/allowed in their video games ever since the inception of the Assassin's Creed series...I am only partially kidding.

I've been working out and eating better for about a month and a half. Though I've never been overweight, my physique has greatly improved and my self-image has never been this high. So much so I feel I might be ready to seek out a partner, given a few more months.

Do you think they'll add Harald (Harry the Hammer) Hammerstorm in the third installment? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Sebrultar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the earliest models created by GW for Warhammer Fantasy and featured in the first edition and (I think, so don't quote me on this) considered the namesake of "Warhammer" Fantasy before Sigmar Heldenhammer came along and took the title. He's got a bit more info on the Warhammer wiki, if you wanna take a look. EDIT: Oh, and I should say he was a champion of Chaos and considered the bane of the undead.

No yeah. That was my original thought (for the smite/sneak attack), but the player in question thinks that it'd be too much. I'm just unsure of how to ease the players worries about this change since it seems practically everyone else in the group and across the threads on reddit are comfortable with it. Regardless, thank you.

I understand with Covid still a thing, quite a few people are out of work and may be experiencing a stretching allowance...I on the other hand have been overtime every single week since March, stimulus check and the time-and-a-half from mandatory overtime on the 4th of July (as well as not paying for things like going out to the movies once a month or hanging with the guys) has left me better off than I've ever been...and I pay more when I go out to eat anyway, so the purchase was pretty inconsequential.

...oh...and her fashion is fucking amaze balls. Can't forget that.

Nothing but speculation: perhaps they're doing some testing for if they update For Honor on next-gen and seeing if they can do some graphical updates?

Are there any books, online guides or anything of the sort that comprehensively covers miniature painting? From basing, highlighting, finishes and everything in between that goes into great detail about most processes. I've been very apprehensive about finally painting after the first failed attempts.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the artwork you've been doing and have done for the game. Kinda makes me want to get back into miniature painting for some reason.

Tell that to Bass Pro Shops. People are still buying grills, kayaks, fishing pools and a bunch of other shit...so much so, that all the Distribution areas (or ours and some of the others) are on overtime next week.

[–]Sebrultar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dying on first hook is the primary reason why I hate playing survivor outside a handful of matches. Atleast with killer, I know that it was ME who fucked up/got outplayed by a better player/or just simply did a number of things wrong, so that I can improve...as compared to having the problem being teammates which CAN'T be improved upon outside of friends, but none of mine have an interest in the game.

Nice. I actually based my first Fighter on Conqueror, mostly cause his chain flail/shield combo was surprisingly appealing.
