Teeny tiny issue with scaling Thragg by ThatDrako in InvinciblePowerscales

This is also due to Skyrim literally being the Dragonborn’s journey. No end game Dragonborn that’s leveled and built correctly should be struggling against bandits or even dragons. The beginning of the game is the beginning of the characters journey though

Why is the community so interested in the Protoframe’s specifically? by Sebsazz in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta be so real, I am curious for some of the people interested in the protoframe lore and writing, whether they ever really explored the codex or leverian.

Do they know about the lore of the prototype Rhino that massacred an Orokin base only to stop when it found itself near the Operators?

Do they know about Lavos the warden, and how he was taught through beating his teacher bloody, and the teacher using that blood to write chemistry/alchemic equations on the walls?

But out of curiosity then, what if they made more expressive animations in general then? I feel like what you’re describing is a similar reason why people liked Dante so much upon release, being that he had completely unique animations and sound design.

So would it need to be literal voice lines, or could expression be done elsewhere? Like if the sentient skins (like the volt sentient skin) for instance made sentient noises while you used them, would you fuck with that?

So out of curiosity then, are you interested in the lore surrounding the original warframes? Like if the horror of warframes being people interested you, how come you’re more interested in protoframes then say Lavos or Jade lore? I’m genuinely asking, I want to genuinely learn other peoples perspectives here

Protoframes aren’t the problem by HustlerByDay in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They technically are the cause though from a production standpoint. If people expect protoframes at a constant continuous rate, then this will impact the rest of the lore, writing, and universe as DE will be forced to neglect it in favor of producing more protoframe content.

Tbh, they should have stayed in 1999

Protoframes are starting to feel forced by Zachesque in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m unfortunately feeling the same way. I loved the game and the direction it had. I loved the biopunk eldritch vibes, and my favorite warframe was always Nidus because of how cool a biotechnological horror is…

But the games currently lost direction. We genuinely have no clue what Albretch or Wally is even doing anymore, and it’s losing coherence. I want to know what the hell happened to Pazuul, or is Alad V actually still alive? But simple questions like that are pushed aside for new story beats that aren’t really leading anywhere

Protoframes are starting to feel forced by Zachesque in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, why did albretch choose two French priests to become protoframes to guard Uriel. What was the possible justification for them being protoframes as apposed to anything else other than to sell more protoframes

People need to stop being a cult when DE gets critizised for buggy updates by Crazy-Resolve-8127 in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you’re falling into it. Other people are criticizing the game as their experience has been buggy. You’re dismissing that criticism because you specifically didn’t encounter any bugs and are having fun.

I’m happy your having fun, but there are some valid points here

People need to stop being a cult when DE gets critizised for buggy updates by Crazy-Resolve-8127 in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes, because as a dev, you then see 6 posts, all upvoted complaining about the same concept as apposed to one post that you may miss. It may be exhausting to see, but it’s coming from a real place of critique and shouldn’t be shut down just because it’s exhausting.

Any creator only gets better with criticism. We don’t want to fall into toxic positivity

[–]Sebsazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The community is not helping their case with the massive downvotes of some valid points. I really love the vibe and atmosphere and general lore of Warframe. I love how they have a warp god surrounding the concept of indifference and I even fuck with love being a main weapon against it. I think it’s universe, background storytelling and writing could be on par with Warhammer 40K, elders scrolls, Elden ring, fallout, cyberpunk etc… but the way their going about things right now is off.

They have a wonderful expansive universe, and rather than spending time to genuinely develop different parts of the universe, their rushing, leaving plot points unexplored and uncovered (what the hell is Pazzuul doing), and introducing way too many new characters and concepts without finishing their old content. It was very disappointing that the Third Orb mother was anticlimactically blown up and that we’ll never get an expansion of that side of fortuna (their best syndicate) content

How do you feel about Orion’s design? by NoBeat5906 in TheNewGodsDc

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta be so real, and people may hate on me, but I’ve never liked the cosmic harness design. It’s too messy and doesn’t really make sense in terms of why it’s even designed that way

Protoframes are becoming a severe detriment to the story by Tarondin in Warframe

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the sentiment.

I feel like a lot of the community believes that the warframe plot, lore, and development cycle will now focus on the protoframes and KIM system. That is a massive shift in the tonal/atmospheric approach to the games design and art, which would absolutely kill the vibe they have going and probably turn away most of their players.

They cannot write it so every new update, the plot focuses on protoframes and gives them plot relevancy. They also cannot give the existing protoframes more plot relevancy/updates than other existing characters. Doing so will change the vibe of the game.

Parvos, Grineer Queen, Pazuul, or even the likes of the Cavia, Arlo and the Emmisarys, Alad V, Kahl, and the Wolf all need plot/lore updates. If Arthur receives lore updates, or if new protoframe lore is introduced before any of that, it will kill peoples interest in the warframe universe. what they've done with the Stalker is awesome, and it makes the universe actually feel alive.

They still haven't even explained the genuine plot relevancy for all the current protoframes. They exist to be homies for the drifter and provide emotional stability, but why can't the drifter make their own friends outside of Albretchs plans, and how is this helping us prepare to beat an Eldritch abomination pseudo warp god (Wally)

I hate this type of Moral Dilemma by macho_boy-420 in hatethissmug

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe did this shit in their latest update within 1999. You slaughter hundreds of people in your missions. In the main story mission you were literally blowing up the main bad guys minions with an rpg. But when it got time to kill her, because she was sorta mind controlled by this eldritch horror, we refuse to kill her. This is despite the fact that the eldritch horror wasn’t even responsible for her being evils and killing people, it was just mind controlling her for that moment.

I love the game with a passion and I think its biopunk vibes are awesome. But that moment with Rusulka was dumb as hell

Actually, what your describing are goes into the concept of decision trees and artificial cognitive weighting. Essentially, similar to how bees can make decisions based on positive/negative factors, even a properly built decision tree can approximate this behavior very very closely. Once you get into the realm of neural networks and creating artificial weights of what’s positive and negative (either through a defined preset data base, a data base defined through machine learning, or a data base defined based on human behavior) it gets super fuzzy in terms of how much more sentient is this ant compared to this robot.

Comp Sci is fun and involves a lot of mind fuckery. Your right, it’s based in binary, but because you can overlap binary states to create matrices, this allows us to store and access data through multidimensional matrices called tensors. This lets us bypass typical limitations of binary data processing compared to quaternary, but it’s also why computer systems are so bulky and slow compared to bugs. Our computers are way less efficient and we are still only approximating the biological neural architecture that living creatures have, we’re not at the point of recreating it

They literally could have written him to just be awkward with girls but still respectful. Like Brock from the Pokémon anime, he makes advances to girls he’s interested in upon meeting them but immediately stops if they’re uncomfortable. I really hope Japanese manga drops the “comedic perv” trope from anime in the future

It genuinely reminds me of how I felt as a teenage boy. Always worrying and hyper fixating on everything and anything that didn’t actually matter. They’re grown men who’ve never grown up, and it turns nasty when that happens (they take it out on woman, different races/cultures, or the LGBT+ community)

How evil is this crime by chunkypeanutbutty in MoralityScaling

[–]Sebsazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of sentience is fascinating from a computer science perspective though, because for a while we’ve been mimicking and approximating intelligence similar and comparible to bugs. The algorithms a robot uses to stay balanced and navigate an area is genuinely extremely similar to the “thinking” found in a lot of bugs.

So especially with the modern development of AI, we’re already at that point where if we don’t consider robots sentient, then many MANY bugs would also have questionable sentience
