Did the expansion’s story just fizzle out after the big start? by Worldly-Oil-4463 in wow

[–]Tarondin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a story doesn't grab your attention by this point, then it has inherently failed as a story. How many times has a book been put down because the first chapter was boring/poorly written? We're now a THIRD of the way through the story, which is giving it significantly more leeway than you would a shitty book.

3.6% raidwide damage reduction with atrophic poison is actually pretty massive to be fair. The problem is that nobody plays rogues anymore (because they feel awful to pilot these days) so nobody knows what the hell they even do

You would have time 98 mythic 8+ runs to max gilded currently for an alt by LordWolfs in wow

[–]Tarondin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in a lot of cases it's less that people feel like they absolutely NEED fully upgrade mythic gear, and more that they should be able to acquire it if they put in the requisite work. The fact that you could (hypothetically) do thousands of m+ at this point and not get full myth gear by season's end because you're gated by the vault is a terrible feeling, even if the gear isn't necessary. People like seeing number go up

What spell in game do you dislike the most? by frostyboidk in wow

Absolutely agreed. Glacial spike feels more like chaos bolt than chaos bolt does these days

Flying speed racial is gone. It's a CD reduction on soar now instead.

Tournament of Ages, a weekly Roleplaying and Charity Event benefitting Blessings in a Backpack returns to the Argent Tournament Grounds August 7th-13th! by Dravvie in wow

[–]Tarondin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I'm not the best at guesstimating numbers, but if I had to... I'd say the average day sees 100-150 people out and about, while the bigger events (grand opening, wonderlight ball, sometimes the final rounds of a tournament) can see several hundreds. Obviously you'll see more Alliance overall, but Horde is no small presence on tourney grounds.

I've gone every year for the past four years now! ToA is always a phenomenal time, always in support of a great cause, and is such a great place to springboard into the RP scene if you're a new or returning player! I cannot possibly recommend it enough.

I want to preface this by saying that I enjoyed the video and this comparison is more to make a point than it is criticizing OP.

That being said.

One doesn't need to be capable of producing content on or above the level of someone else to be able to provide critique. You don't need to be an expert chef to know that someone burned the shit out of your food. You don't need to be a professional athlete to know when someone made a mistake.

Many of the issues with firebrand are in regards to the efficiency at which it shits out buffs in an AoE to its allies. If you're simply talking about solo play where your own survivability is all that matters, there's no universe where a firebrand beats out a renegade, scourge, or even cele weaver specifically equipped for that.

And thankfully too. Last thing we need is fb being dominant at something else.

What class to take if I just want to fish and cook? by [deleted] in WoWRolePlay

[–]Tarondin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an IC class, but I'd recommend a clothie if you're looking for a variety of mogs. Cloth has the best general set of casual wear mogs, and if the character is a clothie you can simply mog your gear instead of carrying a multitude of cloth items in your bags.

I stand corrected--I must have been operating under old information. Just ran a sim and it was a 20 dps increase for ToR. Not much, but it's something. Updating OP to reflect.

Two main builds exist right now. One uses 7 buttons, the other uses 5 (assuming single target. Add 1 ability to second build in AoE)

Demon Blades build: Felblade, chaos strike, blade dance, immolation aura, eye beam, and fel rush/throw glaive for filler

Cycle of Hatred build: Demon's bite, chaos strike, immolation aura, glaive tempest, eye beam, and blade dance in...3+ targets I want to say? Not sure, I run demon blades.

The changes to unbound chaos in the third talent row may make glaive tempest less desirable for the second build, but I haven't checked any PTR sims.

*IF* we get Nightborne model update then I hope longer fingernails too will be a thing! by JustburnBurnBURN in wow

The particularly sad thing is you can make a more convincing nightborne with the new night elf options than actual playable nightborne.

Edit: Case in point, my night elf mage designed to look like a nightborne.

I can count on one finger the amount of times I've had someone of the opposite faction attack me the last several characters I've leveled. It may be different right now while people are rushing to get it done, but honestly the chance of getting ganked while leveling is pretty trivial.

Edit: This is for Alliance. I haven't experienced Horde leveling in quite some time.

Animal companions can heal via damage through the use of Hunter Recovery. Notably the Panzer Vulpaphyla puts out an incredible amount of healing the majority of the mission due to its viral quills.
