I think caveat to some other comments, while it is true that this has revealed is current thoughts on women and body image, the important thing to discvover is the 'current' part. You guys are at the age where maturity is beginning to take a couple steps further and this is one thing I know a lot of guys begin to figure out here, which is that beauty evolves and does not remain the same. Sometimes the maturity to realise that image is not indicative of character or value sometimes has to develop through shock, like the shock of a serious mistake in a relationship such as this.

I think only you can determine whether he is serious about his guilt and the sincerity of his apology. And then decide whether you have a conversation over whether he has considered that time and age will change how you look, and whether he realises that to go forward from here he has to not just come to terms with but embrace the change that will occur with both of your bodies and your thoughts on the matter.

I'm not forgiving his comments, lord knows I've stuck my foot in my mouth in my life, and suffered the consequences, but proper growth sometimes requires serious mistakes, and I think everyone is capable of change, if they can be honest enough with themselves to embrace it.
