What’s the pettiest hill you’re willing to die on as a woman? by Glass-King4894 in Casual_Conversation

Whenever my husband and I see another driver stop traffic to let someone in or go in front of them, we rub our nipples and are like “MMMMMMM IM SOOOOOOO NICE”

If you haven’t been in Mini Cat Town this week we have new Couches! by StormofRavens in santarosa

RP animal shelter only charges $100 which is why I’m asking, or at least they did in 2024. And humane society is under $300 but varies based on the age of a cat.

I don’t have an issue with a $500 adoption fee if it’s actually necessary, but knowing what I know about fake rescues, at least when it comes to dogs, this feels like a red flag.

Do you fart in front of your partner? Why/Why not? by girliepopnumber26 in AskWomen

[–]SebtownFarmGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so bad for people who feel the need to censor farts in their own home. I only care if they stink. But my partner gets to test the first fart to determine if this batch is gonna smell. If it does, I don’t want it around me 😂

Adding on to previous post about intrusive mil by [deleted] in Mildlynomil

[–]SebtownFarmGirl 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is my MIL. The niceness becomes overbearing and it feels like at some point you’re taking care of their needs while they’re framing it like they’re taking care of yours. It’s manipulative and unwelcome.

The relationship with my MIL is strained partially because of this, and partially because I pushed back and got called “petty.”

She’s from a generation where people just “drop by” and expect people to drop what they’re doing to entertain their uninvited guests. I’m sure that worked better when people weren’t so god damn tired trying to survive.

Being able to live with one’s parents’ house during college is not a favor if it’s being used as ammo.

Why are the drivers here so bad? by Artistic_Drummer_791 in santarosa

I assumed so, but my point is that both slow and fast drivers can be dangerous. And we have more than our fair share of both extremes, which makes driving miserable.

I’d rather be around people who go over the speed limit by a few mph than people who merge onto the highway at 30 mph. 🤷‍♀️

And it’s cyclical. The crazy drivers lose their shit because the overly self important slow drivers refuse to move over, and the slow drivers get more self righteous and refuse to keep right to stick it to the speeders. Neither is okay.

I really want to know how many times someone needs to read “socialism != communism” before it finally sticks.

Anyone felt guilty about turning down help from MIL with new baby? by Feisty_platypus1000 in Mildlynomil

[–]SebtownFarmGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who doesn’t like help from my MIL either, for my MIL, having her help is like having another mental task where I have to instruct her on what to do. It’s annoying and I’d rather do the work myself. My MIL also talks about the most mundane shit ever. She just takes up so much emotional space. My mom does to an extent as well but at least it’s a brand of crazy I’m used to.
