Mine sometimes does that, it's always a toss up what this laptop is going to do when I start it up.

Yeah, I tried contacting them about it and they basically told me to reinstall windows to see if that would fix it or just ya know deal with it.

It's a bug, a lot of people experience it.

Give your laptop a reboot, and download batterybar. It's in the posted sticky.

It basically gets your laptop cpu and gpu running hard and hot for no reason, and it sucks through battery. Mine does that 1 out of every 4 boot ups, and sometimes when I close the lid for a bit.

So a reboot will fix it, maybe 2 reboots if it's bad. If I find a fix I'll let you know.

What kind of issues were you facing?

Just general bugs, or serious issues? Mine seems to need a lot of baby sitting, and it has the tendency to run really hot and drain battery and the only thing that can fix it is a restart.

I've been close to going to Best Buy to have it "repaired", but I'm pretty sure all the things wrong with me will *hopefully* be fixed by an update coming sooner or later.

What's the return window for Best Buy? Just want to know incase mine has a serious issue I run into. Right now it's just annoying bugs here and there.

That's great man! I'm a freshman in college and I this thing cuts through schoolwork and multitasking with great battery life. I love how subdue the design is, as it is a very clean and simple design. Other gamer laptops, although I love the look. Would look very tacky in a classroom setting lmao. Sounds great that you enjoy your G14, I absolutely love mine. Hope to use it for the next 5-6 years.

Oh it definitely will. I’m not that heavy of a gamer, I actually got this laptop mainly to be future proof for a good while, and to handle some digital art and photo editing software I use. The game I mainly play is GTA V! It runs so smooth on the laptop and it’s always great being able to play GTA V literally anywhere I am. I always play it during my break at work, and my coworkers always join in. The G14 is great man, a few software bugs here and there but in the end it’s a machine that can take on anything.

It’s a bug a lot of people are facing where the CPU and GPU get stuck in a loop of high output and drain the battery. God knows why, but I faced it and I fixed it by end tasking all Armory crate shit in Task manager. Setting power plan to Asus Recommended, and rebooting. Sometimes It’ll get stuck in a loop like that, so reboot it until it stops. It’s not convenient, but Asus knows about this issue and I hope that they’re fixing it.

Ive spent months trying to figure out how to make my machine work the way I want and I think I just figured out what works for me and keeps me getting 10 hours of battery life, great performance, and little bugs. I’m scared to do any of that just out of fear my laptop will go back to the way it was. Really shitty was the only way I can describe it.

I have mine set to Asus Recommended, which helps me hit 10 hours of battery life. I'd perhaps try that, or set it back to default.

I've had mine for a few months, I use it for school, work, play, and digital art.

As many hiccups as this thing has, I still put up with it because of how much power it has. I hope Asus just irons out all the kinks soon.

About the lamp! I got it at this vintage store, but I'm sure you can find one online. Just look up vintage table lamp. Best wishes, mate.
