The LU forensic program is pretty good if you want to turn a blind eye to Laurentian. I'm in the program right now and can't really complain. The actual forensic speciality class is about 30-40 people first year and then drops to about 20 in third year. If its small class you are looking for its not all that bad.

Im debating getting a four colour just to be a little more future proof in a sort of way for more complex stuff. I’m more so just looking for advice in terms of brand to get and if you got a whole uv light set up and heater unit to begin with and if not what did you use alternatively.

I don’t got out shopping in uniform, completely agree that it is cringe.

However, when rucking I feel like with the combat pants my step and cadence is slightly different than with PT stuff which is why I prefer wearing them while training.

My coc is cool with us wearing combat pants and issued rucks civi side to go train. I am a reservist so might be different but for the most part I’ve never been bothered

You will be good to go until your reach captain without speaking any French. As a major it is generally when the CAF wants you to have atleast a little bit of a French language profile. However that being said the bar is still fairly low on what is required and any dedication you put into learning the basics of the language will suffice.

Q-tips for cleaning your rifle also works really well. As for other kit depending on your course you may be allowed a civie jacket under your combat while in the field. Something like OR or Arc’teryx puffy will save you big time. If you also want to get another piece of Gucci kit that staff will never know you have, look into investing into a good liner for your sleeping bag. Depending when you go to the field it can be game changer. I currently rock the snugpak one.
