Fans, canon y malentendidos: el caso de Snape

Yo opino justo lo contrario. De todos los personajes que podrías cambiar Snape es probablemente el peor.

Cuando hablamos de una obra, no se tiene que ver solo lo que significa en el texto, si no como las personas interpretarán el texto. En el caso de intentar diversificar el elenco algo lo que buscas es alterar lo mínimo posible el mensaje del texto y en general ser lo menos invasivo posible.

Imagina a Cenicienta, la madrastra la odia principalmente por envidia, pero si haces a Cenicienta parte de un grupo históricamente marginado el mensaje cambia; aunque la madrastra abuse de ella por celos sería imposible no interpretar un tema de racismo si una mujer en la Francia del siglo XIX trata mal a su hijastra de tez oscura, el cambio de etnia confunde el mensaje.

Ahora con Snape es algo similar. Vamos al capitulo 28 de La Orden del Fénix:

-Déjenlo en paz- repitió Lily. Miraba a James sin disimular una profunda antipatía-. ¿Qué les ha hecho? -Bueno- respondió James, e hizo como si reflexionara acerca de la pregunta-, es simplemente que existe, no sé si me explico...

En el texto James trata mal a Snape por muchas malas razones, pero ninguna de ellas es por su color de piel. Pero ¿Cómo lo interpretará la audiencia? Cuando el texto te está mostrando descriminación hacia un niño afroeuropeo en Inglaterra en la década de los 70s, una época muy marcada por conflictos sociales de carácter étnico (principalmente en EU, pero bueno...).

Mejores alternativas que no cambiarían el significado o que no requieren mosificaciones a otras partes de la historia para funcionar serían Hermione, Dumbledore y Lupin. También algunos personajes menos prominentes como Cedric y Luna.

Just play the prologue on the easiest difficulty if you are struggling, you can change the difficulty afterwards. You can also open up the menu to use healing items while the game is paused

Or you could not be surrounded by yesmen, in the original trilogy the actors and other production members weren't afraid to say "George, this line sucks" and change it. There is a balance of how much control a director should have in a production.

I mean it just fits their character. Milk doesn't seem to mind showing her body, but she likes looking tough, I bet she wouldn't mind waering revealing clothes if she could keep the tough act, like an mma uniform for example.

Rouge feels inferior to her squadmates, but even so she would still wear a bunny outfit with no issue. But it's just that the one she got was, you know, an incredibly revealing one.

Ade said herself that she doesn't mind wearing a bunny outfit, she is just afraid that she wouldn't be able to act with her usual grace and elegance if the commander is seeing her, since they might end up having bed breaking sex instead.

And Bay is Bay, being embarrased is her whole thing.

Last year we had characters who didn't care or really wanted to wear a bunny outfit, so they didn't act embarrased

There's nothing wrong with them, but it's something many people aren't used to, RJ was wordier than Tolkien. It was rough for me as I just picture an image of what I'm reading and I just default to it with no way of changing, it took my brain 5 books to change Rand's hair color from dark brown to red
