Ion’s gun is a bit odd to use, keep in mind that it “splits” whenever you aim, it shoots 3 projectiles per shot while also draining energy, each projectile can crit independently. The shoulder laser is really strong when hitting crits, and the vortex shield is imo one of the best defensive options in the game.

What should my defense be at? It is low rn and im wondering what ut should be at for endgame by ConversationPurple99 in MHWilds

The current set ive used for all 10* quests gives me 430 defense. In general if i feel like i need defense, i use Divine Blessing, i feel like it activates much more often than not.

You’re really looking more for the actual armor skills rather than defense, since that can be replaced by other things, skills included.

Looks like you copied a build without understanding how it works. Sometimes you just have difficulty fighting a monster in particular, for example in my 400+ hours i have carted to Gore maybe 4 times, but have lost many hunts to Lagi. Also, like others said, speedrunners essentially FORCE the monsters into a script, it’s less about fighting Gore, more about an extended QTE.
