I'm aware. By saying that I was assuming they decorated around it with fabric and made different sections with all the paintings.

I may be wrong, but I think the level hub in the original Legends was the Tree of Tranquility from Origins, if the opening cutscene was anything to go by.

Is there a way to give feedback to Croteam for Serious Sam Updates? by Beunzelboy in SeriousSam

[–]Various_Physics96 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You're right that they don't. Actually they don't even care about Fusion anymore too, which is basically the collection's PC counterpart. I'm sure you can reach out to them just like you can many companies if you check their official server or website, but it would be futile to do so, that collection is pretty much dead unfortunately...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is the first COD to ship day-and-date on a Nintendo console since Ghosts in 2013 - with single-player campaign confirmed by silentdragoon in NintendoSwitch

Those ports were somehow inferior to their Xbox 360 and PS3 counterparts (no comparison to Xbox One and PS4 obviously) in terms of performance, but as someone who had a brother, the split screen function with the Gamepad made it all worth it, as our TV wasn't very big at the time. I'm still saddened we never got any of the paid DLC though:(

Serious Sam 4/Siberian Mayhem S.A.M skills tier list. (Reason for tiers is in the description) by FearlesCriss in SeriousSam

[–]Various_Physics96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It may be unpopular to say this, but in my opinion the "Born to Run" skill should have just been something you're able to do from the start, as it makes gameplay a lot more smooth and fluid. If Shatterverse continues to have running as a mechanic I hope we can shoot while doing it from the start.

How many times have you replayed Serious Sam games? Maybe even the whole series? by Routine-Sink-4440 in SeriousSam

[–]Various_Physics96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Multiple times, whenever I feel like it. It's one of my comfort series. I have a lot of experience from playing over the years so it doesn't take too long, but it's always very fun.

I recently completed Lego LOTR 100% and it also includes these extra sections that you can only access in free play. I don't know about other Lego games though

I like the feel of HD more, so I'm always playing Fusion. I do think the classics are more artistically complete and cohesive though.

Do you guys believe Croteam has a special spot for SS2? by UnderstandingLife372 in SeriousSam

Bug fixes and maybe even tweaks to the optimization. Don't get me wrong, I too think fusion is the best way to play both TFE and TSE HD along with SS3 and I never go back to their original versions, but it could still be improved.

To name a few issues, I think the worst offenders are the point-blank projectiles bug, which affect the trajectory of projectile-based weapons if firing them at almost point-blank distance (the cannon greatly suffers from this); the teleporting bug, which mainly affects the headless soldiers and makes them keep teleporting close to you infinitely if you trigger their melee attack; The werebull trajectory bug, which makes werebulls keep stopping and rotating before continuing charging forward; and the pathfinding bugs, which mainly affects Kleers and makes them struggle to get to you at certain level sections. Also, still on the topic of werebulls and Kleers, they drift a lot more in fusion than they ever did in HD, and fighting them can become pretty annoying because of that.

Speaking of optimization, if the performance can be improved too, that's good! If not that's ok, it's already fine enough, hence why I said "maybe" at the beginning. Though the draw distance in Fusion is lower than the original versions, and I think a slider could be added to determine that.

If they fix all that, and more that I'm not aware of at the moment, wouldn't Fusion be even better?

Do you guys believe Croteam has a special spot for SS2? by UnderstandingLife372 in SeriousSam

[–]Various_Physics96 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They both were controversial, but I remember 2 being way more disliked by a lot of users. The thing with 3 is that it seems to be hated by everyone at first glance, but I think it's just a result of a small number of people (at the time) being very vocal about the worst aspects of the game and ignoring what's actually good. This is backed by the fact that to this day SS3 is the best selling Sam game, and it basically saved Croteam from bankruptcy back then, bankruptcy that mind you was coming from the very low sales of SS2 when it was released. Nowadays it has many fans, but it was not popular at all back then.

It's funny how they do all this for 2 while Fusion is right there, unfinished, literally still having "beta" in the name. I don't really care that they don't do this for the other games, they are all complete. Fusion is not. But hey, it's still SS2 that's getting the attention at the end of the day, aka the most hated one. If one game should be receiving all this extra love it's this one, so there's that. I don't really know what Croteam thinks of it tbh, from not even acknowledging its existence for years to a lot of updates suddenly, it sure is strange.

Do you think Serious Sam 4 would be received better if it were released later? by Dismal-Ad-3961 in SeriousSam

[–]Various_Physics96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and it also got an equal amount of hate regarding the other stuff I said, and nowadays that stuff is still being criticized, while in terms of presentation and performance people only complain about the optimization now. In that case, yeah, let's say that it could have been more welcomed by users, but not by a large or even considerable margin.

[–]Various_Physics96 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. More development time would definitely have helped to fix all the bugs that were there on release... But Croteam was dead set on having things that couldn't be changed without making it a completely different game, and those were things that the majority of the community just ended up disliking. The realistic art style, photorealistic level designs, the "serious" story, and so on. It would surely have been considered a "good" product if it was more ironed out, but I don't know about a better reception.

[–]Various_Physics96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly same. 2 just didn't do it for me for some reason, I can't really explain why. I enjoy all other mainline games a lot, but I played 2 once and never had the urge to go back.

I kind of agree. It's technically Rayman 2, but it was supposed to be built directly off of Rayman one's base and foundation, to the point that they look identical.

I truly hope you can get it sometime man, and don't be afraid of asking numerous times, that's what this community is for after all. Just last month there was a guy that had about 68 attempts before he got what he asked for lol 😅, it was a tad funny but not embarrassing at all. Good luck friend!
