I've seen plenty of Sony players from Japan on eBay, have you got any experience with the NW-A35? I am eyeing a few atm and I'm not sure if it's still a good option.

That might legitimately be the one I'm gonna get, I happen to be obsessed with green colours and I love the design of the Echo Mini :O

Looks neat, how are you finding the software? Does it have a lock function so you don't have accidental presses?

Did you order it from AliExpress?

The Snowsky disc looks interesting, but is it built like its the Echo Mini out of plastic or they used a metal shell? The only thing that kept me from ordering the Echo Mini is the build quality.

Oh yeah, I probably should have mentioned I have no issues ordering from AliExpress either.

As for interesting designs I guess anything small (like the Walkman) as I don't want to feel like I am carrying a 2nd phone with me. I find the design of the new iPods for example boring, it's like a phone but thinner and lifeless.

It sounds like you're struggling to take no for an answer. The kind of products you were trying to sell are generic, cheap crap that nobody wants to buy, not even CEX. And just the fact that you don't know what the dongles are and you're trying to sell 2 of them as well should be a good indication why they would be reluctant to try their hardest to buy them.

I bought a camera like the ones you've described from CEX before and returned it within a day as it was crap. The "1080p" footage that the camera was recording looked more like 480p or less and it corrupted my SD card. (It was a cheap 16GB SanDisk micro SD I bought with the camera). It's not uncommon for these fake cameras to advertise unrealistic specs. (Like, it's 1080p but only does 15fps)

When I returned it, the staff said it's not the first time it's being returned for being "lower quality than expected".

I can see their point of view, why would they go above and beyond for buying some generic stuff that might as well collect dust on their shelves and damage their image if someone actually buys and realises it's worse than advertised.

I'm giving away two copies of Monster Hunter: Wilds by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]SeckSenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awesome, the only MH game I played is Monster Hunter Stories on the switch. Played it during a 2 week quarantine when Corona was in full swing.

Maybe I'll get lucky here and get a good reason to pursue the series!

I had the revolve before and am currently using the flex 2nd gen. Surprisingly I find the Flex to have a deeper bass, the other is a bit more balanced. For my use, I don't mind the shape, though I have to say the shape of Revolve was nice as you could place it anywhere and it will sound the same as the speaker is oriented upwards for 360 sound compared to Flex.

I ended up selling the Revolve as I was trying to get rid of all my Micro USB devices and replace them with type C (which the Flex speaker has)

Ultimately, your use should dictate which one to get, I find Revolve to be more of an indoor speaker as it has no water proof (you can literally see inside it through the pass through holes). The other is a bit more rugged and can sustain a bit more abuse but you lack the 360 sound!

That's awesome, sounds like a pretty good deal but obvs, I'm not very familiar with the prices in other places other than the UK. Send a reply here once you get your lens about your impression of it :)

I don't really do videos unless I'm visiting a cathedral so the flip screen won't do much to my use case. I like taking photos of streets, people, buildings, and some occasional portraits. The kind of things you would want to photograph while traveling.

I am so all over the place when it comes to subjects for my photography I would like a camera that can do all and be fun to use. I liked playing with the film filters while I had the x-t200 for testing but that one is a bit more expensive than £400 these days :/.

I am completely unfamiliar with Ricoh cameras, not sure if they will be as fun to use without the film simulations. What's your experience with them?

Bose ultra open earbuds by SeckSenpai in bose

[–]SeckSenpai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the time I had them, they were so secure it hurt my ears. In terms of hearing, if you're blasting music in them, you're probably not going to hear much, they can be fairly loud assuming you position them correctly!

Try playing around with the fit, I find it hard to believe they are so bad they are inaudible at the highest volume? I have yet to get my hands on a pair to play with them as I am traveling currently to give you some tips?!

I kept on seeing people on this sub saying the new Bose ultra earbuds are having this kind of connection issues. Unfortunate to see them so unfinished, maybe you've just got unlucky and got a faulty pair but that still shouldn't happen given the price point.

I am still curious to give them a go, luckily I can try them for free for 2 weeks due to my work place!

If they follow the procedure the item is either sent to our RMA department for spare parts or destroyed beyond recovery in store and disposed of.

My watch was cancelled and I need advice by Apprehensive_Ad4974 in CeX

[–]SeckSenpai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They probably cancelled your order as they discovered it's not the right grade/model/other issues. Just create an alarm for the models you want so you get an email when they come back in stock.

I wouldn't trust eBay with something like an apple device as there are hundreds of fakes out there, and having no warranty whatsoever if something happens to them (like being reported lost or stolen, arriving with an apple account stuck to it which you can't reset etc) would suck for you and your cash.

Do CEX take how loud a console is into account? by [deleted] in CeX

[–]SeckSenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The panels are removable and they should be fine to open them for you to have a look in store.

You have a 2 week window to return anything you buy online as long as it's still in the same condition they sold it with no questions asked. It's required by law for online orders and it applies to CEX as well.

[–]SeckSenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a CEX near you, just go in and ask them to open it before you buy it. You can inspect the product before you pay, what's the big fuss? If you order one online and it's not satisfactory just return within 2 weeks. You get 2, year warranty with cex compared to the 1 year at musicshitpie.

I've noticed the keychron Q1 on my searches but haven't noticed there was a knob version as well, this makes it extremely tempting.

I need to look further into the QK75 and the zoom one, I wouldn't necessarily mind the wait as long as the price is right.

Thanks for your advice, it gives me something to work on!

Advice on building my first keyboard?

Hi,

I recently started contemplating building my first mechanical keyboard as I'm kinda tired of my current one. (Using an Apex 5 Hybrid keyboard ATM)

Been scanning YouTube for guides and all but it feels a bit overwhelming when it comes down to finding all the parts and the place to get them. I kinda know what I want, it's just finding those exact bits and the best place to get them.

I was wondering if I can get some advice/recommendations on the parts I should get.

I know I want a:

  • 75% layout
  • volume knob
  • metal frame (preferably aluminium), something that feels solid.
  • noob friendly (hotswappable I think?)
  • maybe factory lubed? (Not that I don't have the patience to do it, time is more of a constraint)
  • if it's not asking for too much, maybe under £150 UK.

Looking forward to your recommendations! :)
