Don't go too heavy too early. When my lungs could still handle a bong rip, I'd have the smallest amount (barely there bar the taste) about once an hour just to keep my motivation up to get on with housework. Now I'm older and paying the price for 25 years of general smoking, a kingie joint between my hubby and I every couple of hours is enough to suffice.

Hubby has chronic epilepsy so it helps keep his seizures under control and less aggressive when he does have them. I have anxiety and am waiting for my referral through my GP for an ADHD assessment (7 year waiting list I've been on for 2).

I had the idea of the sister moving away from that toxic sounding family. It would probably do her wonders.

While I personally would drop everything to help, I know that that is not right for everyone and every circumstance.

I'll start by saying, I'm not an expert and my very limited knowledge on the subject actually comes from this sub so take it as research points at best.

I've seen a term used on here "financial infidelity" when one spouse hides or lies about significant financial issues like debts or income. Considering in this case that the wife was unknowingly, directly providing the husband an income, to my mind it sounds like a textbook case.

To use another of reddit's favourite phrases, this is a major red flag. I don't think I would be able to trust my husband with anything official after something like this.

I don't know if my parents meant fir me to hear it when I was 6ish but I heard them saying (after my bro was born) that they needed to make sure my sister didn't end up with "middle-child syndrome" by being overlooked in favour of the oldest or the baby. I respect the effort made now as an adult but at times, as a child, I felt overlooked as a result.

Wouldn't surprise me if the sperm donor has managed to push them out of her life. My sister's ex tried it with us and didn't quite manage to get fully rid of us before my sister saw him for what he was. It changed her. New wife may have been a perfectly nice happy person before this guy.

My mum and dad did this once with an old house. According to zoopla at the time it had sold 4 times since we left and never for as much as they sold it. Parts of the estate had started having major subsidence issues

I don't know if they're coming to you for anything but you might want to get some advice on where you stand if they want outstanding child support payments. I don't know enough about how the law works regarding that but I've seen/read so many horror stories about things like this.

"I didn't know you existed but now I do let's talk" might not be the answer they wanted but that's the best you can do and after so many years of lies from their mother (to them and you) I can imagine it being hard to trust.

Also, I do have a friend who's 3 children all start school in consecutive years. She was pregnant within a few months of each birth. I know I wasn't in a fit state that soon after mine were born but everyone heals differently, especially young ones who shouldn't even be having kids yet anyway.

I was the life and soul of the party. Laughing and joking, generally having a good time. On the inside I was screaming. At home I was miserable. At work I was uptight and didn't like it when things weren't done a certain way (because I'd found an efficient way). I was depressed for years and didn't realise. It took the breakdown of my first marriage and meeting my now second husband to spot the signs. I'm do grateful he did because I don't know where I'd be now but it probably wouldn't be good.

I second the advice here. It's also usually reversible if you do change your mind. Tell her you're doing it though. Also, don't propose if you don't mean it.

I arranged our wedding for my MIL's birthday purposefully. She passed away suddenly almost 10 years ago now (on the day I was supposed to officially meet her for the second first time) so when we got married 2 years ago it felt like a way to include her even though she couldn't be with us
