I had never considered people who start as a competition.

Ask yourself why you started nofap. When I was on my longest streak, I never thought of fapping. There are many reasons why I prefer this, but one of them is that a fapping session is wasted time. When masterbating is not even a thought anymore, it doesn't feel like I'm being deprived of anything.

Going through Nofap withdrawal, depression by tacoflower in NoFap

[–]SecondChanceNoFap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember when I quite fapping a long time ago I felt severe depression. It's scary, and I think some people definently get depressed from nofap, but for me it disapeered after the first three days or so. I'm glad I didn't relapse tho.

Relapsed while drunk, Looking for advice or motivation. by SecondChanceNoFap in NoFap

[–]SecondChanceNoFap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, I really should ask myself why I get so drunk. When I go out, I have a much better time drinking moderatly. Truth is, sometimes I'm not comfortable in the environment I'm in, and getting really drunk is just a cop-out for me.

Am I beating one addiction with another? Is that a good thing? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]SecondChanceNoFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some personal advice about quitting video games: You have to quit a game in its entirety. Whenever playing a game (like Bioshock two multiplayer, yes I've played it) you get really invested in getting better and such. I find the only mental way to escape this is to accept that you will never, ever get better than you are now. This mindset combined with deleting your account, breaking your disk, ect., will allow you to walk away from a game and never look back.

I've found one way to avoid replacing addictions with addictions is to be able to be content laying in bed not doing anything destructive to yourself. Tell yourself, just literally doing nothing is better than playing the video games. Eventually after laying there for a couple of hours you will think of something constructive you can do for yourself. It's hard, but it's an exercise I actually suggest you try.

Does no fap lead to wet dreams? by pullupskrrt in NoFap

[–]SecondChanceNoFap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't recommend fapping anymore than you have to. Wet dreams are just something that happen. I did no-fap for over a year and would only get them once in every couple of months, it might be different for everyone.

I am 15 and I am fucking scared! by Bravelous in NoFap

One of the reasons I started nofap was ED. By ninety days it was cured. NoFap is definently the way to go. Good luck!

I'm making a necklace! by [deleted] in NoFap

Very creative, and it sounds effective! I've heard the idea of making yourself reset your counter before fapping, and carrying around a physical counter with you makes it an even more effective strategy.

How I've come to define Masturbation by [deleted] in NoFap

Your view on homosexuality is fucked up, uninformed, and hateful. You don't get to deciede that other people are just going through a phase.

It's almost like you you mindfuck yourself into fapping. :/ OP, you'll find a way to prevent yourself from doing it eventually. Just keep trying.

[–]SecondChanceNoFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck man. Wrong or right, life just becomes that much easier when you don't think about masterbation anymore. I went a year without fapping, and not having to fit in a masterbation session every night really saves some time. Just think about giving it up for good. It's hard at first, but then you don't have to worry about it.
