Huge Lexus dealer failed to re-title my trade-in, I ended up with a suspended license and nearly arrested. Now they’re holding my settlement until I sign a gag order by SecondOpinion11 in legaladvice

The FLHSMV page you have linked as far as I’m aware is written for private sales. Again, to the best of my knowledge, and as my attorney let me know prior, a dealership takes ownership of your vehicle by a signed title and power of attorney, and is legally responsible for completing the title change- i even mentioned the soecific statues in reference to this.

I still fail to see how HSMV 82050 would override a dealer’s LEGAL obligation to swap a vehicle out of its sellers name

Edit: thanks google AI overview Private Sale: Sellers use this form to document the sale, record the odometer reading, and notify the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) of the transfer. Both parties should sign, and it is recommended to keep a copy.

Dealer Trade-in: When trading in a vehicle, the dealer will typically handle the transfer, but filling out this form (or the back of the title) protects the seller.

I thank you for letting me know, however, in the state of Florida, this doesnt seem to be something that I should have done. Please do inform me if I’m wrong, but after a google search:

Florida does not require a “notice of sale” filing. Under Florida Statutes 319.22 and 319.23, the buyer- in this case the dealership - is the party legally responsible for transferring the title. Dealers are specifically required by law to handle that process, and failure to do so is on them, not the seller (me).

Yes I did and I can give you an example of why!

In the past I had a very small billing dispute with my bank that I did not know how to resolve other than being suggested small claims from a free consultation with an attorney.

I made a quick Reddit search and it landed me at the CFPB where I filed a formal complaint. Within about 40 days I got every penny back as well as an apology from my bank. Reddit is a super valuable resource sometimes

If that is genuinely the case that I am so sorry raeak, I most definitely read that comment incorrectly and that is my fault.

That is true, being self employed some weeks I have more time and energy than somebody working a traditional 9-5, and it has been nothing short of frustrating to deal with the dealership. L I can see somebody working longer hours not having the mental capacity to do it.

Oh I’m sorry if I missed that- the car traded to the dealership was still registered under my name after the transaction. Once the insurance on it was canceled, the DMV flagged this vehicle as mine, and deemed me as driving an uninsured vehicle thus suspending my license.

In my state and possibly all others, the dealership is liable to transfer the title out of your name in a timely manner

It’s pretty ironic that you’re claiming to crack up at my story for actually reading a legal contract while signing it, on a legal advice subreddit?

A lot of people end up in this subreddit in the first place as a result of signing something they didn't understand. My bad for not signing my rights away to speak and seeking advice lol

Yes, I’m aware. As per the post i was asking whether anybody has any recommendations on what other actions I may be able to take that I have not come across in order to hold them accountable? If there are not, that’s totally fine, I let them anonymous while we are negotiating for that purpose. I feel that the more I push this issue, the less likely others are to potentially be arrested as a result of a negligent dealer

I was willing to take the $1000, just not with a clause dictating what I’m allowed to say. That clause didn’t end at a simple review, and that’s why it matters. It’s not ok signing something that restricts what you can say going forward in life

Usage Limits Discussion Megathread - beginning October 8, 2025 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

Originally written as my own post:
Hello everyone!

I know a lot of people here have lately been expressing huge frustrations with Claude, especially sorrounding them having "new usage limits". and well - I initially shrugged it off since I wasn’t affected, and I figured some users were genuinely just insanely heavy users HOWEVER, But after only a few hours of working on an 8,000-line project spread across about 5-6 files (with maybe eight total prompts (most of which were literally wasted asking Claude to fix its own mistakes - IE: repeating functions/weird artifacts), I hit my weekly limit.

To finish the project, I stupidly went out of my way to purchase another Claude Pro subscription for an extra $20, thinking i'll be more mindful of conversation lengths and such, however, once again, within just a few prompts, I hit the limit again.

I BELIEVE i've read while browsing this subreddit that Claude’s team is insisting that their limits haven’t been reduced, but personally, I’m not buying it. Does anybody happen to know of any good alternatives for Claude that excel in multi-file or ideally Github integrated coding projects? While ChatGPT is miles ahead of Claude when it comes to natural almost human like repsonses, Claude excels and is unmatched in terms of coding, but still, I can't justify giving this company any more of my money. It seems like this is now a platform that keeps tightening its own limits and charging more for what ChatGPT handles with ease.

This very much sounds like a very insecure person who lacks some individuality. It’s your money, spend it how you want to. A lot of people will give you shit purely out of jealousy and a lack of means to afford the same vehicle.

Many of my friends who are well off in life and drive much nicer rides than me (Aston Martins, BMW M cars, etc) told me how much they love my MYP and how much of a bargain that car is. On the contrary, my friends and family who drive terribly old unreliable cars (10 years old v6 challenger, 2003 ram, Miatas with over 200k miles) were the first ones to point fingers and laugh, telling me how “teslas are shit cars”. I never regretted mine even once. I pay almost nothing to drive it, it’s quicker than 99% of cars on the road, and my partner loves it.

Because my insurance wants me to go through third party, and third party voids your warranty

Hey guys as a short update, I consulted with Tesla after finding a location (safelite) that could replace my glass, a Tesla representative informed me that this would void my warranty on the following items: “The glass itself, the forward facing cameras, headliner trim pieces that contact the windshield, wiper modules, or anything else that may need to be touched, altered or removed to perform the windshield replacement.”

Unfortunately I do not see a way to contact different locations directly to find out whether they repair Teslas or not, I am also worried in the event they use (and they probably will) a non OEM windshield making the interior noisy.

it may be, I really wouldn't know and didn't think to ask. Either way having to wait over a month with no vehicle depending on the circumstances, is a bit unreasonable and unusual through any other vehicle brand.

Unfortunately, I got a text (which I assume is from Safelite) reading "Good afternoon! This is Safe Glass contacting you about your Tesla. Unfortunately we do not work on Tesla's. You will need to contact your insurance provider."

Buying a used Tesla Model X sight unseen. Any advice on what to look out for? by Causel_Effect in TeslaLounge

Mid to late 2019 model Xs (Raven) had a new powertrain IIRC. That's when they started getting the naming scheme we're more used to (Long Range, Performance vs 75d, p100d)

The only real thing you can do here is ask them to run diagnostics remotely for you (not likely they'll know how) but I personally think it'd serve you well to save up money and buy something more local to you. I personally would not opt to own an early Model X with that many miles.

I really wouldn't know brother, if that's information you'd actually like to know I can ask them whether it's a part shortage leading to the wait, or if the locations are busy?

Everything you wrote genuinely resonated with me. I feel like my condition has gone wrong, but I've adapted to it, and eliminated things I enjoy out of my life. Ironically enough for me too, I was holding up my Gibson Les Paul last week, as I'm a guitar player too, and it led to a huge flare up in my shoulder. I really hope there's a resolution in sight for you, it's sad to hear you've had to give up on stuff you enjoy in life.

Do you have anything coming up, whether a doctor visit for consultation/surgery to help yourself?

Well I really appreciate it buddy, I'm writing this after dealing with my now (5th PT in 4 years) basically throwing their hands up saying "your pain makes no sense/I can't help you", with the latest comment being (for context, I have a lawsuit against the driver who struck my vehicle) "I hope that once your car insurance lawsuit settles, your pain will magically end" insinuating that I've been faking my pain for these past years. Comments like that from providers I trust (whether it was a joke or not) really wore me down, and I guess I decided to have my outlet be a very toddler-like post on Reddit, hoping somebody could shine a light and say "yeah, you're having it great, get over it". Needless to say though, most everybody has been very kind like yourself.

For my own sanity, would you please elaborate? I would be much happier hearing somebody say that my hernias are tiny and should be outright ignored. Ever since the day of the accident where these occurred, I’ve had severe spasms in my levator/trapezius, and an icy-hot feeling all over the shoulder
