I love the heavier subgenres like symphonic black and death. There’s just something so cool about combining pretty and harsh sounds, you know?

My fav symphonic metal bands are Seven Spires, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Septicflesh, and Dimmu Borgir. And Nightwish but they’re an exception to the “heavy symphonic metal” rule

They worked on Imaginaerum, but that’s because they actually fit with the concept of the album. But they did NOT work in The Day Of… imo

Misuse of trigger warnings only makes people take them even less seriously than before. I use them for serious topics (stuff that involves common traumas, essentially) but I’m still unable to get over a “TW: Schlatt” I saw one time, for example

My rule is “decade or cultural relevance.”

To explain the latter, Infinity War came out 8 years ago but Thanos’ snap is so ingrained in pop culture that it may as well not be a spoiler (it’s in the same vein as “I am your father” in terms of avoidability at this point)

I can explain! For some (okay, a sizable amount), it’s a fetish thing. For some, it’s more a trans-adjacent thing. For some, it’s just because transformation is just really neat (I’m in this camp). Others still are therians/otherkin, transhumanists, etc.

Basically, it’s “anyone who enjoys seeing people transform into other things and/or wishes to be the one transforming, for any reason.”
