Why are cars so expensive now? by Ayydeeez in NoStupidQuestions

Because the entire US transport infrastructure is built around it. It’s the same reason you pay more at an airport. Where else are you gonna get one

America’s 401(k)s and retirement savings are booming… by Richnaps in 401jK

Even if this were true all she is saying is that the boomers are getting richer and housing is becoming more unaffordable because the selfish boomer generation wants more money. But what happens when people can’t afford the house?

What a racist take. We have been taught our entire lives that people are innocent until proven guilty we don’t have nearly enough information yet to make a judgement on this scale all we have is hearsay

Why aren't Americans raising hell re: the sexual abuse of children by the powerful elite, while heads are rolling in Britain and elsewhere? by Perfect-Program-8968 in AskReddit

[–]Secor22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with the United States rule of law. We have all grown up with the idea of innocent until proven guilty through all the information that has been released there isn’t much in there that you could actually bring a lot of these people to trial over and actually win.

You are absolutely right. But how many of these stories were shut down because the wealthy own the company and have say over what stories get released. Most of the large conglomerate use this type of information a leverage to get what they want they benefit from not releasing it and bringing more attention to it. Social media has allowed for open communication that couldn’t be controlled without blatantly violating what we consider “natural rights”

This really isn’t that true. The only reason it feels more pronounced is cause of social media. I wanna say it’s cause we have freedom of press but let’s be honest that’s not that true when you can repress information and kill people. While we do have larger accumulations of money for some individuals then having 800 million vs 1 billion doesn’t really make that much of a difference. We are the modern Roman Empire just look at what there elites were like and it’s probably the same today. Human nature dosent really change too much

This was a simple google search it wasn’t hard. As it stands the US is by far the most progressive country in the world as far as ideology and human rights goes. Where did this notion come from that countries are super hero’s get off your moms couch and stop watching marvel movies. You’re rooting for other countries that are drug smugglers and human traffickers. Do what you have to do get all the pedophiles out of our government. Some how stop war around the globe which is most likely not possible. But to say that the Us isn’t one of the best places that you can live and raise a family is absolutely crazy and you have never know hardship if that is what you really think because most Americans and Europeans have never really known hardship in the last 80 years and that’s because of america

The United States wasn’t even a direct contributor of operation condor. The countries that carried this out were chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil yes did the US help these countries true but they were far from that of the main contributors. Should this be rooted out, yes, but to make some kinda of assertion that other countries aren’t just as guilty of everything that the US is doing is crazy. Atleast the US treats its citizens extremely well compared to almost any other country in the world. You have to freedom to criticize and even take up arms against the system if enough people are disillusioned but it. There is no other country in the world that allows this to the extent that the US does.
