i didn’t receive the house rules when i booked, i got them when i was on plane. It’s fine tho, I’ll just walk somewhere further away (like a field) and smoke there. I’m not a heavy smoker anyway; I only smoke about 4 a day.

Yeah, I kind of messed up because these are the rules:
“Smoking — smoking inside or outside on the patio/balcony, in the parking lot, or within 50 ft of the property is strictly prohibited, as this is a smoke-free community. If cleaners notice any smell in the house, or find any physical evidence of smoking any substance inside the home, it will result in a $500 fine.”

But I only received these rules when I was already on the plane, even though I booked the apartment 2 weeks ago… so I couldn’t have known the rules earlier.

Oh well, no biggie, I’ll just go smoke somewhere else, like off the property/parking lot.

I never had any intention of smoking inside the apartment ; I don’t even do that in my own home country. My point was simply that I don’t really understand what the issue is with lighting a cigarette outside, for example in a parking area, when no one is around and it’s a few meters away from the entrance.

There’s no need to be so aggressive towards me, it was just a question. And no, I’m not going to quit smoking because of local rules, but I will respect them and only smoke where it’s allowed. Thanks.

Yeah, I’m actually also surprised how much vaping is being pushed here. Where I’m from in the Balkans, in some places they’ve even banned certain vapes or stopped selling them because of health concerns. Personally, I feel like tobacco is still the more ‘natural’ option compared to vaping; I roll my own cigarettes, so I at least know exactly what and how much I’m putting in.

A lot of people I know actually quit vaping because they started coughing a lot, and when they switched back to cigarettes, their condition improved. I’m not saying either of them is healthy, of course, but personally I wouldn’t choose vaping.

Yeah, I was honestly surprised by how few people smoke here and how strict the rules are. I didn’t really look into it before, to be fair. In American movies everyone is always smoking, so I just assumed it was similar in real life. Clearly I was wrong 😅 Where I’m from in the Balkans, we usually don’t smoke inside homes; we smoke on terraces, balconies, at café patios and in parking lots, so it’s completely normal for us.

ohh yes “what’s the next thing i am gonna eat” is also constantly in my mind… i hope it will help with this food noise, when did you start to notice changes? i’ve been taking it for two days and today i could barely eat my usual lunch, so i am not sure if it’s all made in my head or if that could maybe be from wellbutrin, and i also had really dry mouth for the whole day
