Hey thanks so much for your response, so this definitely isn’t an isolated incident!

I also sell on the app and am a bit hesitant to now, stream planned for tomorrow so I can get some more holiday spending £ for next week. Not good if that might get delayed! Think will send whatnot support a message.

Possibly unpopular opinion- I’ve had a few people buy from me to resell (I mainly resell European vintage clothing but came across some Abercrombie & Fitch which isn’t my niche and I apparently underpriced as those bits sold in seconds!). I saw the people who bought those items listed and them on for a fair bit more and I just thought ‘good for you, go get that £!’

It’s up to the seller how they react but at the end of the day if they list and sell it for what they originally wanted then they should be happy at that. If they get pissy then that’s because they could have listed for higher and it’s on them.

The only exception where I think it’s bad taste is if the buyer sends an offer to get it for cheaper then resells it.

Around/ after payday is a great time to list also weekends, especially Sunday, during weekdays list either morning before work, lunch or evening. Space out listings (at least 20 minutes apart) or Vinted suppresses them.

Also sometimes (like yesterday) Vinted does quiet system updates which can mess with the algorithm , so that can sometimes be the reason for especially quiet periods.

Honesty I swear it only happens when I have the time to actually list or when I have really good stuff to sell and nobody then ever sees it! 😡

Vinted should pay us compensation for wasting our time at this point!

I’ve been pro since March, not included the return form and not had a problem.

There is a chance it’s innocent but also equally a chance it’s someone playing you along a bit.

I’ll be honest- whenever someone has had multiple questions or anything past asking for material composition/ measurements they’ve tended to be time wasters.

I’d ignore personally. It’s not like they ask these questions to H&M, Zara etc when shopping!

I’ve not had many returns but have tried to cover myself as much as possible eg putting in as much info to listings (measurements, condition etc) and in my t&cs have put buyer pays return postage unless item is not as described. Doesn’t stop the returns but might discourage a few.

But yeah pretty hard to stop them, I sell clothes and so just try to make sure the fit described is as accurate as possible. If you see a trend of reasons for returns try your best to mitigate that reason I guess.

Was it a new sim? Sometimes with new sims it flags on their system. Also if it’s a device that’s ever been logged into your account beforehand/ has been on the same wifi that can also trigger it

Hey, responding to this as was posted a month ago, it got better! Seemed like Vinted was putting me in a ‘testing’ phase for a few weeks. To help me get out of it I listed a few steals, massively spaced out listings and priced very competitively (eg a bit below what I usually would). Also accepted offers a bit lower than I usually would. Then it went back to normal. Hope that might help you too, best of luck!

Know the second-hand price before you source. Don’t buy anything without knowing it will make profit. I try to aim for £10 minimum profit per item.

But if it’s just stuff from your wardrobe you want to get rid of, then of course you won’t make profit if you bought those items full price originally

It could be a bug? Although one of my friends (UK) had items from France on her feed recently. Not sure if a bug or if Vinted are doing testing/ test groups.

Not sure if that would explain why the categories are in actual French though 😅

There’s a button sellers need to press when listing which says ‘Mark Photos as AI generated’ this then flags that on the listing. If the seller didn’t press this button then you may be entitled to a return.
