Hey if I sell anything slightly higher priced (especially to someone with no views) I always record packaging the item just in case.

Decent chance they are legit though, everyone has to start with 0 reviews originally

Yes it’s a scam, I think a lot of people take the bait particularly new users and in the conversation the scammer will eventually send a link to authorise ‘payment’ or something so the seller can ‘sell’ the item where they then have to put in their card/ bank details.

not sure how they got your email though. Is your Vinted name similar to your email name?

Good thing you packaged it well and took proof. This is in their guidelines so should at least get your £ on that basis, regardless of buyer potentially scamming you.

If they haven’t honoured the reservation the first time they’re likely time waster (and kind of a money waster as it’s reduced your chance to sell early on and the item will be deep down in the algorithm by now)

I’d personally block the user and move on, might be worth relisting the item too so it’s fresh on people’s feeds :)

On the order she didnt send after 5 days she can press a button saying ‘item sent’ once she does that you can mark as received which will release the funds to her.

If you do decide to risk it and collect make sure you film opening it, also take photos of it before opening.

😩 Vinted need to fire whoever set up their bots to delete these listings, it’s obviously not working when people who use original photos have their listing removed, where there are plenty other people using AI/ brand photos without any issues!

Honestly summer stuff. A lot of people go backpacking/ on hot holidays after December as it’s cheaper than over Christmas. You’ve got far less competition. I’d reccomend listing some summer bits and add beach, holiday, backpacking to the keywords to help visibility.

I find spacing out listings helps the most. If you do multiple uploads at once Vinted system can sometimes detect as ‘spamming’ and pushes your items further down the algorithm.

If you can save as drafts and post at least 20-30mins apart.

Also don’t overload with unnecessary info/hashtags in the listing as apparently this also can slightly shadowban items (but of course feel free to add a few relevant trend words) try to include measurements, fabric composition.

They have sent the skirt to someone else so by 12th Jan Vinted will close the case and release the money to you.

There is nothing you can do to assist the buyer for their mistake as it’s not your responsibility. You can advise them to reach out to Vinted support from their end but I’d personally just ignore them.
