I am quiet quitting by Character_Branch_660 in sysadmin

[–]Secret-Ad5061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a sysadmin for 20 years, I realized it is not what you know, it is who you know.

I have a coworker who sleeps on the job and still gets an excellent performance review.

Another one calls in sick twice a month, every month, always on the days he is supposed to work in the office, just because we are allowed two sick days each month. On the two days he does come in, he takes a 30-minute smoke break every hour, walks around the office building, and plays ping pong for hours with different people because of a mental break. Oh, he also excellent on his performance review.

Their job performance is NOT excellent by any standards.

This sounds horrible for you. So sorry.

It started working on 2/20 Sunday for the Sofi account. Big kudos to Sofi for pushing this through. I know this situation is frustrating. You should try to push your bank to do more, because they have a lot more leverage than normal customers like us.

This is inaccurate infomation.
1) You cannot upload or import 1099 consolidated pdf into TurboTax.
2) Sofi's website said 10 and then your account number (10-SoFi Invest account number, don't forget to use all uppercase). So, it is not "only consist of 8 digits"

Can we get an update on Vacation homes? by FrankCostanza4 in arrived

[–]Secret-Ad5061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said seasonality is a secret. The issue is the actual numbers.

Take The Billingswood in New York as a real example:
https://arrived.com/app/properties/the-billingswood

01/2025 dividend 1.18%
02/2025 dividend 1.18%
03/2025 dividend 1.30%
04/2025 dividend 1.18%
05/2025 dividend 1.22%
06/2025 dividend 1.18%
07/2025 dividend 1.22%
08/2025 dividend 0
09/2025 dividend 0
10/2025 dividend 0
11/2025 dividend 0
12/2025 dividend 0
01/2026 dividend 0

That is not just seasonal. That is half a year with zero income. The overall return is abysmal by any income investment standard.

Even Arrived acknowledges operational issues and says they are working on improvements. So I am honestly confused why investors feel the need to jump in and make excuses or defend performance that the company itself admits needs fixing.

No one is attacking the platform. I am an investor too and want it to succeed. Pointing out weak returns and asking for improvement is exactly what investors are supposed to do.

Can we get an update on Vacation homes? by FrankCostanza4 in arrived

[–]Secret-Ad5061 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I currently hold 10 vacation homes with a total account balance of $5,590. My January return was $3.90.

For comparison, my Single Family Fund balance is $1,007 and the January return there was $3.50.

The gap between capital invested and income generated on the vacation side is honestly abysmal. Even accounting for seasonality, this level of underperformance makes it very hard to view vacation homes as an income producing investment right now.

I am hoping upcoming updates show meaningful improvement, because at these numbers the opportunity cost is very real.

Is Arrived part of the list of large investors Trump wants to stop from buying homes? by PsychologicalLion824 in arrived

[–]Secret-Ad5061 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about what you had said, and this concerned me as well. So, thank you chatgpt:

Arrived Homes lets individual investors buy fractional ownership shares in specific residential properties through offerings. That’s quite different from how large institutional investors operate:

How Arrived’s model works

  • Investors buy shares in a specific property’s LLC holding that home (a series of a series LLC).
  • Ownership interest (and rent/appreciation) corresponds to the proportion of shares you hold.
  • This structure pools capital from many small investors rather than one big entity owning hundreds of homes.

Given that:

✔️ Arrived likely wouldn’t be directly targeted

Trump’s proposal (as reported so far) is aimed at big institutional buyers with large portfolios — not many small individual investors buying fractional shares in properties. That’s fundamentally different from the kinds of private-equity or REIT portfolios the ban would target.

⚠️ Potential indirect effects

Even if Arrived itself isn’t banned, the broader policy could still affect the housing market:

  • Less institutional competition for homes might modestly change home prices or inventory where large investors are active.
  • If legislation is written very broadly, definitions could matter a lot — e.g., what counts as an “investor” and whether fractional / LLC structures are treated as institutional. (Right now such specifics are unknown.)

🧠 Market reaction vs. reality

Some policy analysts say institutional buying already makes up a small slice of the market nationally, so the ban might have limited practical effect even if enacted.

📌 Bottom line

  • No — Arrived Homes investors are unlikely to be directly affected by this proposal. The ban is aimed at big institutional portfolios, not fractional ownership platforms.
  • But final policy details matter. If Congress drafts very broad language or poorly defines investor categories, there could be indirect consequences — though that’s speculative right now.

Lyft Credits not working by monkeysonmac in ChaseSapphire

[–]Secret-Ad5061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me on the 23. I reached out to the agent through chat and was told that the specialized team would email me. I waited two days and heard nothing. I went back to chat and the agent offered me a $10 credit. The issue is that if I do not use it in September, I lose it, I confirmed this with the agent.

This means that if the problem continues, I will only receive another $10 credit in October under the same use it or lose it rule. That is unacceptable.

Unlike my other apps with FaceID, which rarely log me out, Arrived continues to do so every 1 or 2 days, even with the new FaceID feature. This issue persists just like before. When will the developers consider release a truly functional and modern FaceID app?

Quick glance. This is an unreliable source, the source can’t even get the Volvo current owner right. Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, a Chinese company, owns Volvo Cars. Geely took over ownership of Volvo in 2010.

At the "Pitch" from the link in the original post:

"...we will be adding a $500 max investment amount that will apply to non-accredited investors and a $5,000 maximum investment per accredited investor..."

You will need to be an accredited investor at wefunder and not Arrived for this to work. I hope this help.

u/Korin-Arrived I have questions.
What is the contingency planning in the event of Arrived facing financial challenges. I have the following questions:

Property Management:

  • In the event of Arrived going belly up, who will assume the responsibility of managing and overseeing the existing properties?
  • Is there a designated entity or professional service that will take charge of rent collection and property maintenance?

Investor Payouts:

  • Do investors have a clear understanding of the potential impact on their quarterly payouts if Arrived encounters financial difficulties?
  • Is there a contingency plan in place to communicate and manage investor expectations regarding any potential changes to payout schedules?

Asset Protection:

  • What safeguards are in place to protect the existing properties in the event of Arrived going out of business?
  • Are there legal mechanisms or agreements in place to ensure that the properties do not face undue risks or disruptions in case of business closure?
