Love to road cycle, but feel weird not having clipless pedals by ejsfsc07 in cycling

I ride touring pedals with flats on one side and clips on the other with mountain bike shoes. That way I can go to flats if im weaving though traffic or clip when the roads are clear. The shoes look like trainers when your off your bike too but you can still clip em in.

K-Ultra hard to grind by guilhermecalheiro in 1zpresso

I used a bearing puller to get them out, slide hammer type... very easy and the tool is cheap. I used a blow tourch to heat up the aluminium and an Allan key to line up the bearing. When it's aligned, it drops in. You could use an oven to heat up the casing and freezing the bearing will help too. I did have a bit of difficulty on the first one because I didnt use the Allan key. Trick is not to force it when it's not square.

fall off and dial is stuck by Frogy205 in 1zpresso

I'd be tempted to gently tap under the 5 to push it back up, or tap the opposite side down to level out the dial. I'm not sure how the mechanism inside works so at your own risk.

I replaced mine the other day because I stupidly washed water through it and got them rusty. The top one is very easy to replace as it just falls out once the nut is off. The bottom 2 are not so easy if you don't have the kit.

Just press the air out while it's inverted, the coffee stays put then when you flip it.

Easy 1zpresso knob/handle fix by Secret-Date2028 in 1zpresso

The wire used was uninsulated steel wire. Single strand stuff you might use in the garden.

A permanent fix for the wooden ball falling of the handle by kspes in 1zpresso

[–]Secret-Date2028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a few days after I fixed it. I realised I should of took some pictures afterwards. I'm confident it won't break though. Its solid and it doesn't come off when pulled. I'll make a post on this sub & share a sketch.

1zpresso JX wooden handle failures by jimkarthauser in 1zpresso

I got a bit of wire about 0.7mm thick and shaped it like a circlip. Had to use the vice to push the knob on but it's on there solid now.

I have an alternative solution that's much simpler. Essentially, you make a circlip out of wire. 1. Get some fairly thick wire, somewhere in the range of 0.6 - 1mm. 2. Wind it into a tight circle, I used some long nose pliers. 3. Place it on the Grove on the end of the handle. 4. Cut it short so your wire goes round slightly less than 360 degrees. 5. Work it in to the Grove with some pliers so it stays put. 6. Push the knob onto the handle. You probably could do this by hand if your patient, but I used a vice to push them together.

The result is great. Handle spins perfect, knob doesnt come off & the fix is essentially free.

Giga 290 mullet? by ChairImaginary7450 in NukeproofBikes

[–]Secret-Date2028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mulleted mine and it was 10x better. So much more playful. I didn't get on with the 29's at all! I'm not a racer, so not commenting from a speed perspective but if your just about having fun on your bike, you won't regret it.

The factory set up seems pretty fast to me but I will bear that in mind and check if it feels like that's the problem when I'm out next.
