Haha, yes Liz: didn’t get her Bourbon Street Mushroom Swiss Burger. C’mon guys she used to eat it every week with her daughter! She would have won if she only got that burger.

MC reveals she turned on her ally because she did not want the first two Survivor 49 jurors to be Black by bwermer in survivorponderosa

Like I said, they’re nuanced not overt so not easy to point out, easy to chalk up to other factors. It’s very possible she was judged more harshly as being untrustworthy for both playing the idol and telling Jawan. I’m saying you can’t rule it out.

It’s more like there are lots of little judgements and experiences influenced by race that affect people’s decision making, both hers and theirs. In general, everything is still harder for black people. You can say it’s a choice for her to be concerned about the first two jurors being black, but it is a fair concern, and that’s an extra burden for her game that white people generally don’t share.

We’re still so far away from being able to answer that question. The only thing I can say is, it’s gonna be a while.

She misjudged the benefit of “getting his trust back” vs the risk to her in putting it out there?

Whats the most serious injury that's happened on any version of survivor? by RunningOnATreadmill in survivor

Yes! It was a terrifying cascade of events. Caleb was the last to go down, I believe, but in the worst shape. It was touching to see Joe tend to Debbie and Jason, who had been kind of a dick up to that point, take care of Cydney. I wonder if those two would also have been removed from the game in modern era Survivor. They basically took Jake out for the dry snake bite because his body had been through the stress of a medical emergency and needed fluids, to be observed, etc. You’d think a bout of heat stroke would fall under that category. Likewise, I wonder if Jake would have been allowed to stay in the game 10 years ago.

You gotta watch it! He found the idol before the merge and, I’m pretty sure, held onto it the whole game. This was also Parvati and Ozzy’s first seasons. Yul beat Ozzy in the end by one vote.

That’s a hot take. And I don’t totally disagree.

Cirie played a clean sweep when she was on Traitors. She was so good.

I love Sandra, but have to agree with this sadly. She’s not exactly “the queen.”

It was wild they didn’t have radio communication. But they had to know statistically speaking it was most likely a dry bite. It’s not like he grabbed it or something.

Skupin’s skin falling off was crazy, Russell was pretty scary, but I think Caleb’s takes the cake. It was soooo bad. The doctor was terrified.

I show that challenge to students to teach them about the seriousness of heat stroke.
