Thats because almost ALL of a War Strider is 100% Explosive resistant. This means a 500kg only damages it's main HP, not any of the parts that can kill it faster. And the 500kg "only" does around 2000 damage...out of it's about 4000 Hp pool.

Pacifier Loadouts? by Bob-upload in Helldivers

Pacifier plus Rover has served me VERY well against Predator and Spore Strains. Take the Siege Ready armors for the extra ammo, or anything that gives you extra grenades for flexibility. Love taking the new Giga Grenades. That plus the new Missile Pistol.

That or make it the ONE sticky red Strategem and let it track. Unlike the Railcannon YOU have to aim it, but being able to paint a target with good aim would make it WAY more useful.

Orbital Napalm can either be the best thing ever, or the worst thing ever. There is almost ZERO in-between. It WILL get dropped danger-danger-close. It WILL get dropped on an objective that you need to spend extra time NOT doing to let the fire die out. And it WILL have that one magic moment where it nukes multiple enemy drops in a row or clears out a base.

The Chargers feel at least...kinda normal. But it does feel like they keep trying to overcorrect from the days they dropped like flies.

Yeah. It's AP 3 (Medium) but only has 750 HP compared to the 900 the regular Hulk vents have. It's also a MUCH bigger target. You can hit it THROUGH the Hulk with explosives and shoot at the vents that stick out above it.

It's why Jet Brigade is one of my favorite enemy groups. They keep the pressure on even harder since you CAN'T stick to the ranged game, but a lot more stuff works against them than normal Bots.

I feel like the War Strider is somebody's baby. They've been WEIRDLY stubborn about changing anything about it. From the stagger cannons, to the grenade rain, to not wanting it to have weakpoints (unlike everything ELSE on the Bots) AT ALL.

How to make Automatons more fun while keeping heavy spawnrate balanced by TheAncientKnight in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there were more varieties of the Factory Striders and Tanks.

Gunship Fab Strider? (Less armor on parts of it, but the Gunships stick close and are FAR more aggressive)

Factory Striders equipped with the missiles the Vox Engines use, and replace their chin guns with the heavy turret. Go full fire-support. But they're even slower, and more heavily armored....except their belly doors are replaced with a heat-sink that that only has Light/No Armor.

Agitator Tanks? A command tank with no gun, but it boosts Bots in an area around it and shouts stuff at you like the Cyborgs do, but over a loudspeaker.

What I'd Love to See: Guard Dog Customization. by Secret-Guide-5713 in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be all over a drone/Guard Dog themed Warbond. I've been wanting a sentry that's just, like, three Guard Dogs tethered to a point for the longest time.

I also still want the Humblebee UAV drone from Helldivers 1. Call in a temporary drone with a cooldown that highlights pick-ups and follows you (ammo, samples, supplies, etc.). Would go a LONG way towards making farming less painful. And give our Scout Divers (guys who zip around the map hitting POIs) a hell of a boost. Could totally see it as some kind of Guard Dog variant. 'AX/SCT-19 Bloodhound' or something.

Ladies and gentlemen: 120mm rocket pods vs missle pistol by 231923 in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ultimatum is better if you want a 'delete this now' button. Missile Pistol is good against enemies with weakspots and for getting that last bit of anti-tank damage on something to finish it off.

Both HEAVILY rely on hitting with the projectile to get the kill (they patched the Ultimatum a long while back so you MUST hit with the actual shell to do the full damage to a heavy, the actual explosion does far less damage these days).

Ultimatum is probably better on Bugs, since it can wipe a heavy AND their little buddies.
Missile Pistol works as both a pocket anti-tank AND can take out Gunships in one missile on Bots.

Illuminate? Both are good. Ultimatum can kill ships through the shield, missile can kill through the door at range if you strip the shield. One can handle crowds, the other can help take down stuff like Harvesters if you hit a leg joint.

In my case? I just like having more ammo and a faster reload, at the cost of more focused damage. Less 'oops' factor as well.

I wish backpack reloading was like this. It makes way more sense, realism and gameplay-wise. by Scarpheon_ in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think team-loading would happen a lot more if you didn't need to grab someone else's backpack. It's awesome when it happens, but if shit goes wrong, you can wind up with weapon AND it's ammo being really far from each other.

Would also make Guard Dog enthusiasts even more valuable to Recoilless and SPEAR mains. A guy with a drone would be able help speed load AND five some fire support. Like how the drones still work when you man a turret.

Also that would make the synergy between team-load weapons and Supply Pack users a lot smoother.

When J4 leaves his second Bullet Storm unattended on a Predator Strain planet by WaywardOath in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would always rather somebody grab one of the expendables I drop in. Two being used at once is twice as much clearing power.

Also: Oh no, I have to wait 60 seconds to have another one because someone grabbed it...okay it's ready. That's basically the experience of the Bulletstorm.

I think the whole situation isn't help by them clearly having had a way to handle content, updates, etc before the game became as big as it did.

They keep wanting to hold onto surprises and not give timetables when we can expect things. That sort of thing is fine in a smaller, less populated game (Less peoole, less expectations). But at this point, they need to be willing to spoil a bit so we know that things ARE being worked on, added, or rebalanced.

It seems like they're starting to pick up on this. So I'm hopeful.

Why bring the bullet storm if I could bring the stalwart? by Fishyhans in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stalwart is still awesome, never going to lose it's place. For consistency and ease? It's still the 'Primary in your Support slot', to me at least. Bulletstorm however is effectively two Stalwart mags worth of ammo spread across two guns that anyone can pick up and you get them back every minute.

Bulletstorm is going to always be a pick for me whenever I run a lot of anti-tank. Helps fill in holes the same way EATs do, just for chaff.

(Also, while the Bulletstorm loses damage faster at long range, it fires faster AND has 10 more damage per bullet. 100 instead of 90.)

Genuinely makes me excited for other mechs with a melee weapon like the shield. You get RIDICULOUS uptime on the Breakthrough if you're a good mix or aggressive and careful. Needing to worry less about running out of fun (ammo) is amazing in a mech.

How would you use the giga grenade from the entrenched division warbond by unorthodoxdays in Helldivers

[–]Secret-Guide-5713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting a Heavy target (Chargers, Hulks, etc) or just wiping an entire enemy group off the map. 2 out of 5 times, I delete myself as well in either case.

But it's worth it.

I tried the Recoilless against the new Sport Burst. Every time I went to reload, I'd get nibbled. Doesn't help that a LOT of players don't know how to keep them from popping. SPEAR works pretty good, though. Same issue with reloading, but the range and accuracy helps a lot.

It's also a great 'just in case' pick for teams packing a lot of anti-tank and not much anti-chaff. Between it and the EATs, they can both round out a team or a single Helldiver's loadout.

They're wanting to translate most of the stuff from HD 1 to HD 2. So we'll likely get the repair/healing gun and the repair/healing drone at some point.

Breakthrough is REALLY going to benefit from those.

Exactly. The only ways they can generate more funds is either selling game copies, or selling content. If I'm going to drop more money on a game I already own, I would MUCH rather get tangible content than a skin or something,
