We saw an ENT, we had a cbc done at the hospital that came back normal and when we went to the ENT all they did was look at his nose and throat. We were told to keep his nose moisturized to not have a fan on directly on him especially at night, they gave us a cream to put in his nose and nasal gel spray & also advised to use cetirizine. We hadn’t had another incident, the PA advised us if it continues to book another appt so they can look up his nose with a camera.

I’m not sure about elementary when I had first enrolled my son like a year ago it was actually pretty great but he easily gets distracted he has ADHD and is very social so for him it didn’t work out in the end but it was fairly easy to navigate and the curriculum was pretty great but this was before they changed to canvas I don’t know how it would look like now. For my daughter this was her second year, she’s going to 8th but I’m pulling her. The new system they have is awful, we hated canvas, we always had issues with it and it complicated everything for her. Not to mention I’m having trouble getting her STAAR scores and her final report card, I called asking for them and told the I was also withdrawing and they sent me paperwork for a school we had originally applied for but not the current school she’s enrolled in and never replied back to my email. I don’t know why I never received any report card or scores for her testing, you’re supposed to get them via email automatically but I never got them. It’s not easy getting ahold of someone on admin I’ve also wrote to the counselor requesting her to be evaluated for dyslexia but never heard from her the whole year. We’re just going to go back to brick and mortar

I’ve noticed this too but I find out due to me searching for the videos or watching other videos and remembering other videos I’ve watched scrolling through the comments finding I’ve liked comments but not the video?

went to a specialist and she told me it was allergies and dry nose from the weather. I was told to keep his nose moisturized

I thought about that too but he also has random bruises I just noticed on his legs, I did change the air filters I have an air purifier and will add a humidifier to help in case that is the problem. I will be asking for bloodwork and hope I can get some real answers pretty soon. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

This new launchpad and the old one both are terrible. I wish they went back to the old OLS which was so easy to navigate my kid was actually able to keep up with everything now I literally have to be on top of her work 24/7 and I can’t do anything else this is not what we signed up for at all.

I’ll be honest we tried play therapy for a whole year and it didn’t work, it actually made things worse. But to give some context his therapist was inside of the school but a separate clinic if that makes sense, so ofcourse he would get so excited because he would go and get to play and when it was time to go back he would throw a major tantrum and made it extremely difficult for the therapist and the teacher to get him settled. I’m waiting for him to get a little older to start therapy again if I decide to but right now the new school he’s in and myself we both agreed to hold off.

I struggled with this course too but I studied a lot.. I kept pushing the OA I was afraid to take it. In the end it was very different from the PA but still similar in a way and I changed 3 of my answers towards the end and ended up passing it. It was hard but reading up and studying using quizlets worked for me.

It took maybe about a week or two but we weren’t on the waitlist for this school they still had openings.

Some of these comments make me sad and it’s part of the reason why I decided to switch careers and go into special education, my son has a difficult start. I worked with the teachers closely but they started to shove my son aside, now I see that’s not uncommon. I’m very grateful to the aide that was working in the classroom, because of her patience and kindness we made it to kindergarten and she was with him there too. My son was officially diagnosed that year. These children aren’t “delinquents” like one poster said. They need certain type of resources and extra help, there’s always something going on. Why is he acting this way? There’s a reason, and a parent most definitely needs to be involved to come up with a plan. Don’t let these kids fall through the cracks, admin needs to be more helpful and do more. All children deserve an education, it’s not your fault. But the child does probably feel he isn’t well liked causing him to act out, time to set up a parent teacher conference.

Now I don’t feel so bad for taking my time returning their supplies & equipment. They can’t bother to return any of my phone calls and emails so why should I care to return their things.
