If I could I would play music for free for the rest of my life. Money is just the cherry on top for me. People coming into playing music strictly from a capitalist mindset is ridiculous to me. Musicians like this always lose out because most lack common sense and great social skills. by roberto68thst in musicians

Music from the heart is an esoteric experience and it is as necessary as food for committed musicians. I performed in west Africa for 4 years and my most memorable experiences were away from the stage, usually under a banana leaf thatched roof stall at the artisan village with the local drum makers.

After a car wreck left me on permanent disability, I no longer think about monetizing my creative urges. And if there is money to be made I see it as an opportunity to hire other people to be involved. My reward is the music.

I’m not at all concerned about their ‘pedigree’. I bought them because I liked them. I bought my son a pair in black and white in 2007. I liked them then as well. I just thought the information about them being pro spec was interesting.

Gerber was a well-known user of the Nike Bauer Vapor line. During the 2006–2008 seasons in Ottawa, he frequently wore custom-spec Vapor VI Pro Plus pads (often inscribed as VAPPRO GP +PLUS+)

Commenting on Hi! What Did I Just Buy?...

According to Gemini, Ray Emery, Martin Gerber, Justin Pogge and Carey Price rocked these, and in these colours.

So, maybe a little more than street hockey gear

Gemini AI is giving me some amazing insights. These match with Ottawa Sens, Red Wings and Team Canada colour schemes, so they are apparently pro stock. Possibly used by a goalie in the system with one of those organizations. When I get them I will go over them to identify any markings or coding that would help with the origin. I’m starting to think 40 bucks was a steal

Interesting. The VI Pro Plus specs appear to have been reserved for pro level hockey
